Bad Choice.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will no doubt garner gay ire as word spreads that she wants Texas Congressman Chet Edwards to be Barack Obama’s veep. Why will bent boys and girls be bent out of shape? Edwards’ abysmal gay voting record, like his support of the 2006 Federal Marriage Amendment. [Dallas Voice]
I happily voted for Chet in 2006. He’s great for our district, and liberal for our area (when you consider that the district is mostly Republican and includes two conservative universities (Texas A&M and Baylor) and the Crawford ranch). But for vice-president? Please. The most that this “speculation” will lead to is more “a vote for Chet is a vote for Nancy Pelosi” ads locally from the RNC. I can’t see him doing any good nationally.
Damn I loathe Nancy Pelosi. I just wish she would eat shit and die.
I really dislike Pelosi also, and I am embarassed she represents my city. She is pathetic as a national Democraic leader and would probably do a better job planning cocktail parties than serving as the voice of the Party. I have emailed her several times on national gay issues and not once has she responded and she never takes a strong position on any issue.
Ms Pelosi didn’t realize it at the time..but when she uttered the words..”Impeachment is off the Table”..little did she know those words would sum up her rein as speaker….shame.
I hope her tenure as Speaker is brief. She’s more of a cocktail politician than a power weilder.
