“The organizers of Catholic Church’s World Youth Day which is being held in Sydney next month, have intervened to stop a forum about homosexuality as part of the official program. The group Acceptance was hoping to hold an event to discuss the issues around young Catholics who are gay or lesbian. Initially it was rejected from the official Youth Festival, but the Jesuit group MAGiS offered to include it in its event. But MAGiS was contacted by World Youth Day officials and instructed to withdraw its support.” [Radio AU]
Bad Word.

Oh, yes, and gays are welcomed in the Catholic Church. How do these clowns say this crap with a straight face (no pun intended).
Mike
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that it was the Jesuits who agreed to include the topic. Out of the Catholic church, the Jesuits are the most level-headed and accepting.
If the church were actually run by the Jesuits, it would look a lot different than this.

If someone is insane enough to believe in some fucking sky pixie then that is their problem and their right.
However, it is not their right to crawl out from underneath their stones and inflict their horrible beliefs on everyone else.
Secularists and atheists need to have the power to give the religiously afflicted a good smack and send them back into the private sphere.
They need to be told constantly YOU ARE MAD AND NOT WANTED HERE.
We should never ever give them respect and we must always be utterly contemptuous of them and their absurd belief systems.

Be careful of being contemptuous of belief systems; it is a gift that comes back to you. Plus, practically speaking, it wins no one over. “Middle-of-the-road” Catholics and mainstream Christians would be appauled by this treatment. What is needed is disseminating this news. It makes the Church look small and mean-spirited and hateful. That sort of PR bishops don’t like. They can deal with the secularist and athetist haters. After all, this is an exclusion at a purely Church sponsored and organized event. In separation of Church and State, this is a no-brainer. You guys won’t get any traction on this one by spewing ideological venom.
