Barack Obama Tours White House–Ahead of Schedule

Our Hopey, such an overachiever–he showed up 15 minutes early. The Obamas toured the White House for an hour and the President-Elect spoke with President Bush for about an hour. First Lady Laura Bush showed Michelle Obama around the executive mansion. [Politico]

I call him Obie.

But never to his face, of course.

Let’s hope they take an inventory so they can check if anything’s missing when they move in in January.

This sorta DOES uncannily mirror the last South Park episode.

Stop trying to make “Hopey” happen. First day on the job and you’re already making me think Towleroad is blog enough.

Obama should have told Bush he was having a lawn jockey made, that looked a lot like him.

@fredo777: Hey if Clinton staffers did it when they left why wont Bush’s cronies, they’ve been robing this nation for the last 8 years why stop now?

@Tim: Ah, my bad.

I thought you were accusing Obama + his fam of being potential thieves. Disregard.

In my defense, your use of “when they move in in January” was a bit misleading.

I heard recently that, despite all the perks that come with living in the white house, the first family still has to pay for any food that their private guests consume

Well I am about to have one less favorite on my blog list. I don’t mind you disagreeing with actual actions that are bad actions. But if you are going to be just a silly bitch, you are no more interesting than some jaded hipster ho looking for dick in Williamsburg.

@fredo777:Which sentence, the first, second or the whole thing? I am referencing the hopey comment. It’s one of those things that the jaded do.

In all fairness, I don’t think he meant anything by it.

@fredo777: I am sure he didn’t. He probably just thought it was funny. But it’s the prevailing attitude amongst too many gays, especially in NYC. The whole world-weary-I-am-too-jaded schtick. In fact, deep down I feel thats the real reason that prop 8 had little resistance from our side other than the half ass crap the No on 8 did. We never really believe anything even before it has started. Hope is corny. Faith is corny. Etc. Maybe there is a reason for that, but it ain’t healthy. Sometimes you got to believe before anything real happens. I am a stick in the mud. I know. But it’s an observation about why the gay movement is stuck.

@The Gay Numbers:

Yeah, I just think it was tad harsh to call him a bitch over it. lol

Idk, I reckon he was just being facetious. Artistic license + all that. He seems like a nice enough guy. Then again, I’m a bit biased b/c I think he’s cute, too. For shame.

@fredo777: Ha, yeah, the international absolution of gay people everywhere for any sin is “you know that’s totally true, he’s evil but he’s cute.” LOL. I agree he is, but we don’t want it to go to the editors head. Bonus here’s a click from the film Milk that agrees with you that cute is really tops on the list:

@The Gay Numbers:

haha True.

I was half-joking, of course. I wouldn’t overlook something truly heinous because I thought the person was cute. I talked to him earlier, though, a couple times when I spotted a couple typos (like I used to do for Andy) + he seemed genuinely nice.
