Belmont University Adds Gays To Non-Discrimination Policy. But What About Gays Who Have The Sex?

Belmont University, the Nashville private Christian school that fires lesbian soccer coaches and refuses to let students for gay student groups, has added sexual orientation to its non-discrimination policy. But, notes the AP, “it was not clear whether it covered sexually active gays.” Wonderful! President Bob Fisher said yesterday the board of trustees approved the change yesterday, but wouldn’t reconcile how the new policy meshes with the standing student conduct code that forbids sex outside of marriage, nor the rules about having a “high more standard.” [photo via]

You see, they want to LOOK like nice Christians, but that darn Bible keeps forcing them to hate us.

This is great. The vast majority of religious schools don’t include sexual orientation (or gender identity) under their non-discrimination policy, not even more ‘liberal’ ones like Notre Dame (shame on you, Notre Dame!).

@D.R.A.: I’d say this is much more ‘Cover your ass, after being called homophobic’ than ‘Great’.

‘Great’ will be if they uphold this policy with their future actions; and rectify this new policy with old discriminatory ones…
