Ben Nelson Is The New Zell Miller

ben-nelson-dog.jpg

We are happy the anti-gay-marriage amendment failed in the Senate on Wednesday, but one man who makes us very unhappy is “Democratic” Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska.

He was the only Democrat to vote for the amendment, thereby putting him at odds with his entire party. Not since former “Democratic” Senator Zell Miller spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2004 have we felt so betrayed and disgusted by a member of the party that is supposed to stand up for progressive values. Even Joe Lieberman voted “no” on the amendment, and we know that must have been difficult for him, but Ben Nelson was the only one assy enough to stand with the President on this divisive issue. Shame on you, Senator Nelson.

Progressive values? What planet are you from? More like regressive values.

We need more senators like him. Marriage between a man and a woman is the foundation of our society. We have many research studies to show that children need a father and a mother. Marriage is meant to protect and promote society, not cater to whims.
