OH MANNY

Bible-Thumping Boxer-Turned-Politician Says Gays Should Be “Put To Death”

Manny Pacquiao might not support gay marriage, but that doesn’t mean he has to quote some of the most backward Bible verses on homosexuality when talking about it.

In an interview with the Conservative Examiner, the six-time world title-winning boxer quoted Leviticus 20:13 in crafting a reaction to Obama’s recent support of gay marriage.

Said Pacquiao: “God’s words first … obey God’s law first before considering the laws of man… If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”

Really? Need he be reminded Leviticus says all sorts of crazy antiquated shit like, don’t wear clothing woven of two materials, put to death people who curse their father or mother, shellfish are an abomination, etc.

And what about adultery, a sin that’s warned against in the 10 Commandments? L.A. Weekly points out Pacquiao, who’s now an elected politician in the Philippines, is allegedly not so faithful to his wife:

It’s been pointed out to us that the very married Pacquiao hasn’t exactly been by-the-book when it comes to his own union—allegedly. He has been linked in reports to a Filipina actress named Krista Ranillo.

These religious zealots. Always talking the talk and usually not walking the walk.
