“More than 37 million U.S. TV viewers tuned in to watch Sarah Palin accept the Republican nomination for vice president on Wednesday, just shy of the record set last week by Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, Nielsen Media Research reported. Nielsen has said the 38.4 million viewers averaged by Obama’s address last Thursday is believed to be the biggest television audience ever for a U.S. political convention speech, and Palin’s tally of 37.2 million came close to that.” [Reuters]
Big Draw.

DEspite the large audience, her lies and her no-substance speech, she remains above all else, a fraud and sham. The masters of deception who make up the republican party are up to their dirty, deceptive tricks–misleading the American people to steal another election.
I only hope it does not work this time.

Why do I sense another edge of our seats close election down to the final minutes. Ugh, I am getting too old for this shit, lol. I honestly don’t think I can survive a 3rd loss in a row. Ahhh, the agony of it all.

Wonderful. So people got to see what a bitch she really is.

All those people tuned into Senator Obama’s speech because they new he was going to be delivering a message they wanted to hear. The people tuning in to her Governor Palin’s speech were simply curious about this woman they hadn’t seen before.
I bet Barack could give another speech and draw similar attention. Now that we know who Sarah is, I doubt as many people would tune in to hear her tired rant a second time.

The Republicans set the stage by attacking anyone who questioned their little right-wing darling as sexist. Now she has free reign to go out there and say whatever she wants and the spineless media and Democrats will let her get away with it because she has tits and a twat. Call a spade a spade please. She is a vulgar, hate-filled bitch.

The belittling of Obama as a “community organizer” by Giuliani and Palin was so telling and transparent to me.
Of course they don’t want communities (whether they are LGBT, minorities, or working class etc) to organize, then Republicans will lose their power.
John
With Oprah and Perez Hilton backing Obama I cannot see how the Republicans could possibly win.
Palin is definitely a pecularity, but now that we all know that yes there are still people like her around, we can see that she is not representative of any majority.
How many votes has the Palin selection taken from Obama?
I’d say she’s bringing out the vote for Barack.

10-car pileups on the freeway also draw huge audiences of onlookers.

Palin’s speech has helped Obama quite a bit it seems. Following last night’s speech, Obama donations took off, hitting 8 Million Dollars so far from about 130,000 donors and expected to hit 10 Million Dollars by the time McCain speaks tonight. Thank you Sarah, you’ve been a big help!
In contrast the GOP has raised about 1 Million Dollars since Palin’s little hate fest.
People tuned in to see what everyone was talking about and apparently they didn’t like what they saw. This GOP circus is beginning to look like a hate session from the novel 1984. Perhaps they can flash big photographs of Obama and Biden and sit glassy eyed and chant: “Hate, Hate, Hate, Hate!”.
Palin is no longer an oddity. She’s now being seen as an extremist and very frightening by the average American. And it’s only going to get worse.

Thanks, John, RyanInSacto, and Bob R for making me feel much better. I agree: The palin nom may very well backfire all over gramps. But I’m also sadly right there with WickedGayBlog: I hate the stress and fear.

For a woman that we had not heard of two weeks ago (except a few of us politicos) to almost match the viewership of someone that we know inside and out by a single letter ‘O’ with more merchandising than Disney, I think that it is justified to be very worried about the election outcome. Why? Insular Democrats ask:
1/ Republicans stole 2000 (Florida) and 2004 (Ohio) and the Voting Machines are not fixed!
2/ There is no third party Right-wing spoiler like Bill Clinton had to guarantee victory
3/ The Republicans just stole the “Change” mantra and no Democrat even responded with indignity
4/ The media always have business before Congress and they prefer a Republican in the White House
5/ Palin is a dangerous pitbull masquerading as a side-show to rally the “Reagan Base” in that touchy-feely way
6/ Republicans will divide by Race and Obama may be left struggling beyond a “Race-based” coalition
7/ Queers, Smears and Fear will make a comeback (Hey, it’s the Karl Rove handbook from Steven Schmidt)
8/ Whoever Oprah and Perez Hilton endorse, will surely lose. Barack better spend every last dime!
9/ Palin will be a future President whether we like it or not. If Barack wins, she is the 2012 candidate. If McCain wins, she’s next in line!
10/ Be Afraid, be Very Afraid!

McCain blew it tonight. Once the novelty of Palin wears off America will get over their issues with race and relize that have to vote for their futures. The only way to do that, is to vote for Obama.
Palin made me worry, but McCain is still a bumbling old man who can’t read a teleprompter to save his life.
P.S. Yes, you were a POW. I get it, I get it. What else do you have to offer?

Oh Jesus, must we keep the trailer trash in the white house:? I mean we are about to get rid of one of the most ignorant backwards peaces of garbage that Washington has ever seen and
trade it for this? No wonder America is the laughing stock of the free world. We have lost all our class and dignity and have turned out to be a bunch of clowns hunting a circus.

Considering nobody knew this woman from Eve, it doesn’t surprise me. I call it the curiosity factor.
