well, but el polacko, why does he have to be comfortable with it? would it be nice if everyone was not just okay with, but felt comfortable with everyone else's lifestyles? absolutely. but so what if he isnt? I also agree that, being a public figure, he should probably make more of an effort to be, yknow, a good example. i'm uncomfortable with a lot of things (PDA among couples/groups of all gender combinations, conspicuous consumption, PACs and other advocacy groups that lie and manipulate facts to get more funding, aggressive drivers, among a wide, wide variety of groups). does that mean i necessarily think those things are wrong? no. does it mean i think the groups behind those actions dont deserve my full support? no. so the idea of homosexual intercourse is a little weird for him. so what? why does thinking something is RIGHT mean he has to LIKE it?

i'm a long-time fan of mahers, but i was a little disappointed with him on this one. usually his closing remarks are serious, with a couple of snarky asides. this time though, when he had an opportunity to make some solid points about falwell's hateful legacy, he went totally for laughs about butt-sex, blowjobs, muscle shirts, and for godssake LISPING !? while he supports gay rights in libertarian theory, his uneasiness with the ..uhh.. sex part .. is often all too apparent. senator alan simpson called him on the homophobia inherent in his gay jokes on this show a coupla months ago, but it doesn't seem like bill 'got it'. too bad.

So what? He's defending our position. He's an equal opportunity comedian. Are you saying there are no funny stereotypes in the gay scene?

It's funny how Bill bashes a gay-hater by using gay stereotypes that gay-haters use.

I get his point and I agree with it but why does he use hatful stereotypes to try to make the point.
