The Rt Rev Joseph Devine doesn't read Hillary Clinton's playbook. The Bishop of Motherwell refuses to apologize after blasting a so-called "gay conspiracy". Devine alleges that we gay folk are working on a coalition with other "persecuted" groups, like Holocaust survivors. The Catholic leader also points a finger at actor Ian McKellen.
The homosexual lobby has been extremely effective in aligning itself with minority groups.It is ever-present at the service each year for the Holocaust memorial, as if to create for themselves the image of a group of people under persecution. We neglect the gay movement at our peril.
I want to ask you if you are able to see the giant conspiracy that's taking place before our eyes, even if we didn't see it at the time. I take it you're beginning to see that there is a huge and well-orchestrated conspiracy taking place, which the Catholic community missed.

Maybe the gays are represented at Holocaust memorials cuz the Nazis put gays in the concentration camps too… while Catholic Italy, Austria and Vichy France were colluding with Hitler??

May as well say that he had "a conspiracy" with the Nazis. What an idiot, I don't know when combining forces or interests is a conspiracy, unless it is underhanded. This guy like most "true believers" is a boob.
I love the persecuted desperation this reeks of. We don't have to "align" ourselves with other groups facing discrimination. The monolith we all fight stands in stark contrast to our small, but persistent efforts. The people who guard the gates and force us out of society live in fear we will gain some power over them and do eaxctly what they have done to us. I struggle every day to remember to try and be energetic and active without being vengeful.

The more a man has irrational fear and loathing of gay people, the more likely it is that he is gay and ashamed. Straight people come to an intuitive understanding when they grow up and think for themselves. Devine is probably gay and ashamed of it and is hiding behind "The Cloth"! I hope he doesn't take out his angst on his altar boys!
