Bishop Harry Jackson is concerned about unit cohesion, military readiness, and the “sexual tension in the barracks” that will undoubtedly result from the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. “Debating” (a word I’d choose not to use, since the premise of the argument was clearly unfair to Mr. Jackson) Dan Choi last night on D.C.’s Fox 5, the fraudulent man of god most recently seen campaigning against marriage equality took the debate to its obvious end: men of the cloth cannot stop thinking about sex.

Bad headline. Dan Choi is a great man, who has done great things, but a assure you… he will never be Butt Sexy.

Why is Jackson considered an expert to speak on this repeal? This is nothing short of propaganda. Attach a title using god as your expertise and you get credibility in this country? Yes indeed, people are just plain dumb. People are actively against this repeal because of ignorance and fear. That is the answer to Jacksons question. It is quite simple. Gratefully Choi won this debate. (if that is what anyone wants to call it). Jackson is a liar and he did not speak eloquently at all.

Bishop Harry Jackson proves that Bigotry can come in all shades of the rainbow. I’m most offended by channel 5 fox news choice of Bishop Jackson to be the counter balance to Lt. Choi. Bishop Jackson brought no special understanding of the military or the senatorial legislative procedures involved in passing laws. It seems all he brought to the table was his bigoted viewpoint. meanwhile Lt Cho by virtue of having been in the military and having gone through the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell discharge process has an abundance of direct information applying to the argument. I wonder if Channel 5 thought the bishops racial history would deflect from their own obvious bias going into the story.

Yup, Dan Choi won the debate. Anyone could have seen that.

“Bishop” (I do not recognize his office) Harry Jackson is no more an expert on gay issues than I am a scientist for thinking lasers are cool.

Plus, Dan Choi is the perfect man to debate (read: strike down the stupid arguments of) Harry Jackson, for a million good reasons, and two superficial ones. Jackson’s arguments often devolve into false dichotomies of black vs. white, or Christian vs. non Christian. Choi, in addition to being a highly intelligent and articulate military officer is Asian-American and the son of a Baptist minister. Jackson’s two primary arguments fall flat. You can’t play the race card to a Korean, and you can’t out-Jesus a Baptist.

Has anyone figured out what this dinge is the “bishop” of?

This Jackson asshole is constantly meddling in gay related affairs in DC when he actually lives in the poorest MD county. Maybe he should focus on dealing with issues among his own poor, crime ridden people instead of meddling in gay affairs both DC and nationally? I guess he’s just another religious hypocrite on the DL….

I’m thinking it would be pretty nifty if FOX News {spits} got a couple hundred thousand e-mails/phone calls asking “why are you wasting my time- as a viewer trying to get to the truth of the stories you report- by asking a civilian priest his opinion on military policy? If he isn’t in the military and hasn’t served in the military then he isn’t qualified to speak to the question you asked him. You ascribed him credibility on a topic completely outside his area of ‘knowledge’ just because he wears that little white collar thing and it adds nothing of value to the conversation; you might as well invite someone who works in a jellybean factory to talk about building space shuttles.”
If they got enough of those- and if the rest of the media was *publicly* challenged in the same way- then they might be embarrassed into not pandering to seminary school know-nothings anymore except on matters explicitly related to those clergymen’s religion.
