Rosie O’Donnell might have suffered a heart attack last week, but it turns out she had someone special to watch over her—the outspoken comedian actually married fiancee Michelle Rounds back on June 9, according to People magazine.
Rounds has had health issues of her own: She and O’Donnell, 50, were going to tie the knot in August, but moved the ceremony up because of Round’s surgery to remove rare desmoid tumors.
O’Donnell’s publicist says the couple had a ceremony but are still waiting to have a celebration. On her infamous stream-of- consciousness blog, Rosie discussed the situation:
we were to wed 10 days ago but her illness forced us to postpone the wedding luckily—as i was in ICU that daywhen it rains…
things grow
like love and flowers
humans tooso on we go
we married in private
before her surgery
just the 2 of us
Congratulations—and a speedy recovery—to both women!
How about we take this to the next level?

Why is this a bombshell Queerty? I’m guessing 90+% of the gay marriages that have occured have been small intimate weddings. Good for Rosie for keeping this between she and her wife and the few whom were invited.
Str8ts have made a mockery of marriage, first with their making it all about the bride and the over the top and very costly weddings where they, in front of their friends and family say in sickness and in health, blah blah blah, I do, then a couple years later, after they’ve had kids and it’s not so great anymore and she doesn’t want to have sex and he goes and finds it with the babysitter, it turns out, they didn’t.
More power to the power gays and regular gays who have gotten married on their own terms and when they said I DO, they meant it!

God bless Rosie & Michelle! I hope they will take time to get away from the madness of the world and take time to enjoy each other and recharge their batteries. Life is too short and God knows Rosie has earned some time to relax and enjoy it! Best wishes to both of these wonderful women!!!
