Bob Davis, 89, and Henry Schalizki, 89, met in 1942, in Rhode Island. They spent the night gabbing, but didn’t see each other again for three years, when “the pair crossed paths in Baltimore.” Their romance has endured for more than 60 years — and twelve presidents. On Sunday, they got married in Washington D.C. This, friends, is what the fight is for: happily ever after. [Washington Post, video via]
On behalf of Bob and Henry (my freakin’ heros!!)………
FUCK YOU MAGGOT GALLAGHER
Their story is as simple as our life, but amazingly romantic.
Wow, what an awesome victory. :)
Mazel Tov! This makes my heart glad.
The black and white scenes are a nice touch.
This truly made me cry…
You see, little blunt b*tches, marriage it is not about sex and genders but it’s about love and commitment. These two men, who are much experienced than many of us, got married despite their ages and YOUR opinion. Because this marriage has proven their relationship and love.
@Alexander: Hmm? I think the evangelical christian forum where you meant to post this is waaaay on the other side of google. I dare say everyone here shares your opinion, so shut the fuck and sit back down, alrite?
@j: oh, darling… give me the link to that christian forum and i’ll go there immediately. But.. i’m afraid they’ll burn me out, virtually.
This is what it’s all about, people. They were so lucky to find one another. And they’ve lived though shit none of you kids can imagine.
This fills my heart with happiness.
finally some happy news, what the universe create equally don’t ever man dare to break them apart.it’s a serious crime.they just don’t know……
“I’m always right and he gets his way.” LOVE IT! LOVE these two! LOVE everything about this! Bravo!
Now, would someone please give me a tissue? *sniffs*
I´m so happy for them. This is wonderful news and fills my heart with joy. All the best to them.
Bob Davis was a radio announcer here in Washington DC for may years. My mom had him on everyday. What a happy note to their story. When I was in Switzerland a couple years ago, 105 year old Hugues Cuenod, former singer with the Metropolitan Opera, and his “long time companion” Alfred Augustine, a retired Swiss diplomat, had their Civil Union, which the Swiss call a “Pac”. They do not have same sex marriage yet in Switzerland. These guys are still living in Switzerland. We are all lucky that we are now living in a time when we are able to marry if we want to.
God bless ‘em, forever and ever.
Queerty has been doing their job lately in producing good stories.
Congrats Gents!
If NOM dares speak out against them, then it will show once & for all that NOM understands NOTHING about how much same-sex couples value marriage.
First off I want to congratulate these two on a relationship well done. It gives hope to us who want a long term relationship. But as im typing this, I connot help but notice that this story has only 2,029 views and 17 comments. While the Morning Goods which was posted only one day before has 102,191 views and 34 comments. Sometimes it’s sad to see what captures our attention and where our priorities are.
Now that is a love story. Marvelous. Wonderful. Beautiful. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!
@Revemupman: 100% Co-Sign….I pointed this out in another thread, but it bears repeating and these guys deserve kudos. Since Daniel and Ryan (am guessing are new) have been on the Queerty beat the headlines are actually coherent and the stories actually revelant….
On Queerts! Who would have thunk it???
@Tackle: Whats even sadder is the number of hits Davey Wavey threads get……..
This is sweet with these two Queens. They lived long enough to see the end of the world. Our favorite bear is asking whether BP cracked the ocean floor:

aww this melted my heart! I love what they had to say about not ever going to gay clubs “because we both had each other”.
What a great story!
People like the writers of “Modering Family” need to look at this…if these two guys, who met in the 1940′s can kiss in public……
I hope these guys have 60 more years together!
“I’m always right and He gets his way” . . that line cracked me up. . .it could have very easily been said from either.
A dapper couple.
Congrat to both of them.
awe – I got goosebumps – watching them and listening to thier story…very sweet!
Bravo. And congrats to Bob and Henry!
