Bookies Agree With Your Grandmother: Adam Lambert Will Win Idol

lambert50

If you bet on Adam Lambert, you’ll lose money. Which is actually a gambler’s way of saying the gay screamer is the easy favorite to win American Idol. Bet $1 on him, you’re likely to get only 80 cents back.

Because all reality show decisions are made by bookies, Lambert’s pegged as the shoe-in champ. Then again, this story is being pushed by the New York Post, which reports to parent company News Corp., which also broadcasts a little show called Idol. Playing favorites?

Oddsmakers from Latin American to London for the first time this week have made the show-stopping crooner such a prohibitive favorite to win this year’s “Idol” that a $1 bet on him will pay only 80 cents.

The talent show has seen some heavy favorites in the past but nothing quite like Lambert — who is running away from the field with seven other performers still in the running.

Lambert has been out of the top spot only once so far in competition — when he stumbled during country music week — and briefly gave the betting lead to Danny Gokey.

He’s one of the most talented singers to ever be on the show. And a really nice guy.

Love Adam–if it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be watching this season. And if he goes, I go too!

@Joeb1212: Seriously, what have you been watching. He has the best control of his voice and more artistic sense then anyone on that show.

when he’s not screeching he’s much more palatable. When he screeches it’s a little over the top. Which is why I don’t like Aerosmith.

At least he has some star quality. That Gokey warbler is pure karaoke.

@Raven totally agree with you @Joeb1212 Not sure what Idol you have been watching but certainly not the one that I’m watching @ Luzee Same here, I can’t wait to watch him perform every week

In addition, Adam has the most stage and performing experiences among them. Like Paula said, he’s very seasoned on stage and knows how to work that stage and not let it overwhelms him. That is definitely something that the rest of them should work on. My second favorite is probably Lil Rounds but don’t know why she keeps picking the wrong song. Allison has a good chance of winning as well because of her matured voice but she needs to work on the pronunciation – she tends to mumble at times. Kris, on the other hand, surprised me with his rendition of “Ain’t no sunshine” but I think he isn’t fully ready yet and Simon was right to point out that he pulled out the “I’m married” card way too soon. I don’t need to say about the others because they will probably drop like flies in the coming weeks. Anoop will most probably be the next to go, follow closely by Scott, then JT-wannabe Matt (we already have Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke, do we really need another one? It’s getting old and this is not a impersonation contest) I don’t want to put Danny Gokey with this group because I think he can sing but he reminds me of Taylor Hicks. Although Hicks won the competition, look at where he’s at now. His album bombed and he got dropped by the label. Last I heard he was giving free concerts. Hmmm.. Gokey really needs to change his image or he’ll probably be gone sooner than he thinks.

Just my 2-cent.

Japhy/Queerty, you bungled the lede. The 4-to-5 odss for Lambert means that a dollar bet PAYS 80 cents, which means you GET back $1.80

Has anyone watched The O’Reilly Factor? Bill O’reilly and two women talked about Adam’s sexuality, but it was very positive.?Basically, two women were gushing over Adam and Bill O wished him the best. The whole thing came off as ‘yes, he’s gay but he is very talented and you should vote for him anyways.’ Kinda like giving the conservatives an ‘ok’ for supporting him. It’s pretty clear Fox is favoring him and he’s a big draw to the show.

Gene — What are you doing watching the O’Reilly Factor? Please tell us that Faux News is located between CNN and MSNBC, so you pretty much have to click past it when switching back and forth between Rachel and Anderson!

Adam okay. think Kris will win.
I would love to be where Taylors at. :-)
Taylors had no free concerts, you shouldn’t believe all the dumb things you hear. To bad he can’t get more publicity for that album, its great.
And he to die for in Grease.

@JOEB1212, Adam sings just fine. He is a great singer. It’s that high pitched howling and barking from the BITCHES in the audience that gets on my last nerve.
