Boy George Defends His Honor

Perpetually troubled singer Boy George appeared on The Today Show this morning to discuss being banned from the United States.

While the State Department hasn't made its final decision on the singer's visa, which was denied due to his false imprisonment trial, Boy George remains "upbeat," he says.

Meredith Vieira, meanwhile, does her best to make him feel like shit – and steal his hat.

Watch it, after the jump…

I think Boy handle the interview brilliantly. Snaps for the hat.

But, it's been like a thousand years since he has had a solid hit! Artists are as good as their last works but unfortunately, they are all working the tabloids and jossipy folk with sad lives.

MV comes off as kind of snarky and bitchy.. she had to bring up the MALE ESCORT during the interview, i guess she was trying to be 'hard hitting'.

Re: seitan-on-a-stick

Artistic careers encompass a lot more than mainstream top 40 hits. He made his money doing that and now he spends his time on more edgy creative projects. Throughout the 90's he was a hugely successful international DJ. A few years ago he put out some amazing art-punk music under the name "The Twin". His show Taboo did very well in London, and, while it didn't last long here, it did have a cultural impact. He doesn't want a "solid hit" whatever that means.

He says that "…people were coming out of manholes…" How prolific from a major league queen……..

I thought Meredith was very nice to him. The reason she brought up the imprisonment of the male escort is that is the reason he's not allowed to enter the United States not because of drugs.
