We’ve mentioned the rumor before that Fredrik Eklund, a.k.a porn actor Tag Ericksson, was going to appear on the new season of Bravo’s reality real-estate show, Million Dollar Listings.
Now the network has confirmed Eklund will be one of the brokers appearing on the Big Apple spin-off, Million Dollar Listings New York, debuting March 7 at 10pm.
Bravo included a lengthy profile on the sky-high Swede in a press release, but there’s no mention of his adult past.
Fredrik Eklund is the youngest Managing Director for Prudential Douglas Elliman. With more than 1.25 billion dollars in residential sales, he is known for being a “listings machine” working with the firm’s senior management team focusing on international sales, new developments and re-sales throughout Manhattan. Eklund is constantly rated as downtown’s “Top Luxury Broker” and was nominated as “Rookie of the Year” by the Real Estate Board of New York. He set record sales in 28 buildings in Manhattan last year and is often spotted showing apartments to top name celebrities. Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Eklund studied at the Stockholm School of Economics before founding an Internet company and working for the investment bank SEB in Stockholm, London, Singapore and Tokyo. In addition, he is the founder of a high end residential real estate brokerage in Scandinavia with 35 employees.
And that’s despite the fact that Eklund has openly discussed it in the press and even addressed it in his memoir.
We’re fairly certain Bravo is gonna pull a Dustin Zito and mention Eklund’s porn past in the second or third episode as some big shocking secret. Seriously, when has a reality show not aired someone’s dirty laundry?
As for Eklund, the show should prove an interesting new enterprise: Now he gets to fuck people over on camera without taking off his clothes.

I’m not going to watch the show anyway (I’m sick of watching that level of indulgence that I have no chance in hell of ever actually participating in) but let’s say I was just for the sake of argument. Why should I care about the host’s porn star past? Obviously from the bio they give him he seems qualified to host the show. Does a porn star never get to leave his (or her) past behind?
we all have a past and like my past it’s nothing to do with anyone but ME!!! so why should we care about what this guy has done in the past! get a grip folks!
This is news?
As someone with a past who is now also working as a real estate professional I take umbrage with your characterization of estate agents as ones who “fuck people over.” As with any industry there are certainly unscrupulous individuals in the real estate business but I can say with all honesty that most that I’ve deal with over the past 10 years, myself included, have gone above and beyond to protect our clients and give them the best service possible.
I don’t see why his past matters. He’s established himself in the real estate business, who cares what he used to do? I’m sure some agents on the show might have worked at a fast food restaurant at some point, do they need to mention that in their show bio?
And whats with the “now he gets to fuck people over with clothes on” comment? That’s quite offensive to all the hard-working realtors out there.
What planet do you people live on that someone’s past makes no difference in regards to what they do in the future?? Sure it makes a great soundbite to say “we shouldn’t pay attention to someone’s past”, but unfortunately, it’s not reality. Your past gives people an idea of what type of person you are, creates a perception of you, and factors in whether you “fit” into a particular situation.
@vince: RUBBISH! dragging up this guys porn past has absolutely no relevance to what he’s doing today and nor should it! would you not deal with this guy because he got his end away in front of a camera? NO! you deal with the guy because he’s good at his job and by the sounds of it has a great reputation in his field and by the sound of it invested his porn income wisely!
Last year Bravo filmed one of these bright light realtors stuffing mailboxes with flyers which is a federal crime punishable, I believe, by up to a $10,000 fine if its done by a business, which a realtor would be. This porno past, by comparison, is a refreshingly non illegal activity captured on film.
It’s 2012. This guy’s adult entertainment background is moderately interesting for a couple of minutes, but really, what does that have to do with this real estate show? Is he going to have sex with his clients? Then his past is irrelevant. Unless the porn career has anything to do with what’s happening next, what’s the point?
Good for him maybe he can be a example for all the other gay and gay for pay workers that there is a way out. You can use the money you make in porn for more than just drugs and alcohol.
NO ONE would care if he was a porn star quietly doing and succeeding in real estate. But that’s not enough for him… he clearly loves the camera and wants 5 more minutes of fame.
By the time ‘the iPhone generation’ rules the world, every politician, executive and sports star will have a dick shot, full frontal pic or sex video out there….. time to hit RESET on ‘shady past’..(right, Mitt & Newt?)
If he had NOT been a pronstoor (as they pronounciate it in Sweden, I think), Andy wouln’t have “cast” him in the first place.
Of course his past matters. This is a reality SHOW (read: entertainment)not a documentary!
Good, get rid of that Madison guy. The laziest real estate agent I’ve ever seen. At least the other guys seem like they try to get their clients a decent deal.
As for this guy, hey, he’s making a success out of himself and doing his job well. Good for him.

If he had a history of defrauding customers or criminal conduct, that “past” would be relevant. But that isn’t the case – he was merely a “porn star”.
Quite frankly, I’d be far more comfortable with a real estate agent who had worked as a porn star than a former U.S. Senator whose career changed after an ethics investigation like the one that resulted in “The Keating Five” (or worse, Keating himself).
@B:
There are certain activities a person can do that causes most people to make a moral judgment about them or question their character. I’m sure there’s plenty of wonderful, delightful people in the porn industry, but the profession has a bad reputation that is very well deserved. So vince is right, your past matters in a variety of circumstances and not just criminal activity. There will be lots of doors closed to you if you do porn. Good thing for this loser, reality tv isn’t one of them.
Wow.
“Loser”. “…Fuck people over…”.
I would hope that the same folks who are so eager to denounce porn stars are not, themselves, into watching gay porn. Not even a teensy, tiny bit. Because after all, what then, does that make them?
Such people make Rick Santorum look positively saintly.

You mean like the 1884 election between Grover Cleveland and James G. Blaine?
http://history1800s.about.com/.....of1884.htm has the full story, but the short version is that Cleveland (a bachelor) was having an affair and was rumored to have an out-of-wedlock son. Blaine, meanwhile, was believed to be corrupt and in the last week before the election, sat quietly at a church meeting in which the minister railed on about “rum, Romanism, and rebellion,” angering the Catholic and Irish vote, with the church proceedings widely reported in the press.
The voters decided to protect their wallets, presumably figuring that Grover would be little threat to their daughters while in the White House.
The campaign was nothing to write home about either: the Republicans had hired a bunch of kids to go around shouting “Ma, Ma, where’s my Pa.” After the election, the Democrats went around saying, “Ma, Ma, where’s my Pa? Gone to the White House, ha, ha, ha.”
And with that sort of stuff going on in U.S. presidential elections, do you really think any of us should be concerned that a guy was once in some porn productions?
@Tony: if you read the profile about the guy I’d hardly call him a loser!
Good for him!
How about making a porn titled ‘Million Dollar Fisting’ :-)
As a former gay porn actor, I expect this may help his sales … especially with those that have seen him bare all in films … and like what they see!
What he does is up to him, but I suspect there may be those that think they own him as a public company!
Along with our allegedly bountiful freedoms, there is still a Puritan mindset hovering like a storm cloud overhead waiting to rain judgement down upon us. I was visiting relatives in Europe when Janet Jackson’s nipple made its Super Bowl debut a few yrs ago and my cousins and their friends were laughing derisively at the news of how outraged the radical religionists were in the U.S. over it. The most spot on comment I got was ‘You Americans love the violence but are afraid and upset by a harmless nipple.’
Isn’t there a straight porn star called Scott Nails that sells real estate in the Las Vegas area?
I’ve met him in NYC and sweet guy. Sweet guy!
We all have a past, so big deal.
Damn hes turned ugly as a hog in heat! Burp…
