New Jersey and New York legislators should be hanging their heads in embarrassment right about now.

Does it need to go to conference? Or does the bill really go directly to Baldacci now?

@Qjersey: I know, I know. I’m still disappointed over CA & Prop H8. However, I think the progress being made in states like Maine is forcing the other states to act.

I agree with Kate Kendell that these recent actions may force the CA Supremes to stand by their earlier act of courage in overturning H8. And in NY & NJ, I have hope we’ll also see progress there soon.

This should say “Maine House approves marriage equality.”

The AP reports that it passed but they say before it heads to the Governor, it needs one more vote by the House and Senate first?

@atdleft: so at this time both the house and the senate have each to take a final vote. the house will today, the senate later this week and then the bill will be sent to the governor.

@Qjersey: Especially as the latest poll showed a majority of NJ voters approve of same sex marriage. What is Corzine’s excuse for the delay now?

Well done, Maine.

Great news! Now contact the Governor and encourage him to sign marriage equality into law.
