Neither Brian May nor his hair realized that fellow Queen member Freddie Mercury liked boys. Seriously? "It was only in the 1980s that he started bringing men backstage who had that particular Adonis look. When I shared a room with him on tour in the early days I can assure you it was girls who generally stayed overnight. But he seemed to be what these days you would call metrosexual. He was into his hair, his clothes. He definitely led the way with regard to preening." Um, no. We'd call him a "homosexual". And a big one, too. [Female First]
I'm suprised to read this…I know in a Guitar World interview, May acknowledged that he would write sexually ambiguous lyrics for Mercury, as a little in-joke.
I'm surprised by this one too. Freddie had even said in an interview that they talked about "love" and who they were "in love" with in rehearsals and no one really cared about gender. Although, he was expressing confusion about his sexuality early in the 70's.
