Catholic adoption agencies cannot pick and choose which sexual orientation of clients it will serve, says Britain’s Charity Commission. And you can guess whether they were looking to discriminate against homos or heteros.
The non-profit Catholic Care insists its funding from the Catholic Church is dependent on not serving gay couples. The plea was met with a “too bad” from the government agency. In 2007, the British government began forcing all adoption agencies, regardless of faith, to ignore sexuality as a determining factor for child placement.

where it shows “Catholic Charities” as the #3 US charity, raking in $3.2 billion. $2.6 billion of that came from various GOVERNMENT souces, AKA tax $$$.
First off, it seems to me that the members of a religious organization ought to fund its own charity, instead of hitting the government for the $$$. And if it does, it ought to make very public, and thank the taxpayers, for the support that we give to it (since their church members are too cheap to pay for their own “charity”). Third, if the general public is paying for most of their expenses, they shouldn’t grouse about providing services and employment to the general public. And if the “generous, caring church members” want to run their own charity organization, they can very well ante up the cash and pay for it themselves.
