Oh Ken Mehlman, you’re already being out-gayed by the news cycle. First a Power Ranger comes out, and now a British politico is coming out. Bonus: He’s married!
Crispin Blunt, the justice minister for the Conservative Party, says in a brief statement: “Crispin Blunt wishes to make it known that he has separated from his wife Victoria. He decided to come to terms with his homosexuality and explained the position to his family. The consequence is this separation. There is no third party involvement, but this is difficult for his immediate and wider family and he hopes for understanding and support for them. The family do not wish to make any further public comment and hope that their privacy will be respected as they deal with these difficult private issues.”
By “no third party involvement,” does that mean there’s no significant other waiting in the wings? No escort about to spill a story to the Sun?
Of course what Blunt, 50, is best known for is prison parties.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Earlier this summer the newly appointed minister was caught up in a bruising row with Downing Street after he gave a speech on penal reform that was seized on by tabloid newspapers. Blunt was later said to have been rebuked by officials from No 10 for proposing a relaxation on rules governing fancy dress parties and comedy workshops in prisons. He was also reported to have annoyed David Cameron by referring to the prime minister’s membership of the Bullingdon Club at Oxford University.

Oh gosh, there’s even celeb factor to this story. The Daily Mail says he’s Emily Blunt’s uncle.

He voted against gay friendly legislation, such as the equalisation of the age of consent, civil partnerships, homophobic hate crimes etc, so he deserves what he gets.
No sympathy or understanding here!

It’s rather like old Wide-Stance started an avalanche now, isn’t it?

Do these things come in threes like deaths are supposed to? Which closeted right winger who’s damaged the community will be coming out next?

@RRR, well funny you should mention that! As if by divine co-incidence our foreign secretary, William Hague, (a deeply unpleasant and troll-like and homophobe) is in deep shit because he has just given the job of his private aide to a (for a tory, reasonably attractive) 25 year old young man. They have recently been seen out together gallavanting.
“William Hague gives gay lover £30,000 job”

And mr Hague has been issuing writs left, right and centre in an attempt to stop the british press from revealing that he, allegedly, might be, gay.

Ooh, he’s threatening legal action to try to keep the stories under wraps
“Cabinet minister may act over false claims of gay affairs
A Cabinet minister is ready to take legal action to halt a series of increasingly lurid but baseless rumours sweeping Westminster over his sexuality, The Daily Telegraph has learnt.”
