Though Bryan Fischer found the quality of Innocence of Muslims shoddy at best, the Focal Point host could’t find fault with the veracity of its message.
On his radio show yesterday, Fischer, who is also the Director of Issue Analysis for the ultra-conservative American Family Association, called the “trailer” for the film “absolutely wretched” and an “embarrassment,” but he had far more glowing words for the actual content:
“Everything it says about Muhammad is true. Now there’s an assertion that he’s an illegitimate child. I don’t know the answer to that. He may or may not be. I don’t have enough information, didn’t have time to research it. But everything else that it reveals about Muhammad, or characterizes him as, in that 13-minute trailer are true.”
It should be noted that “Islamic Theologian” and “Coherent Person” are not among Fischer’s other professional titles.
Many believe Innocence of Muslims is linked to anti-American demonstrations in the Middle East and the attack on the U.S. embassy in Libya, which led to the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens. According to Right Wing Watch, Fischer believes the film is just being used as a scapegoat and the attacks were orchestrated and pre-meditated.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
That is, until he finds some more time to do research — which obviously shouldn’t interfere with him making broad, generalizing statements in a public forum.

Is this a gay story?
tdx3fan
@Cam: No, its a story that is related to religious controversy in the United States and abroad. While religious controversy between Muslims and Christians and Jews may not be directly gay related, I would say the fact that all three religions have been used for 2000+ years to demonize gay people makes it of interest to gays.
Cam
@tdx3fan:
But this isn’t a religion talking about gays. This is about an Egyptian Coptic Christian making a video that upset Muslims.
There really isn’t a gay angle here that I see.
Captain proton
One fact about the prophet of Islam is undisputed, but Muslims tend to gloss over it.
Muhammad was betrothed to Aisha bint Abu Bakr when she was 6 or 7 years old and consummated the marriage with her when she was 9 or 10 years old. He was 53 at the time.
ChiChi Man
Why is this on here? To bring out anti-Muslim trolls like Captain proton? To me, Muhammad, Jesus, whatever – it’s all nonsense!
Mjl-428
@Cam: true. I think we’ve seen enough of this psychopath by now. Every time Bryan Fischer speaks, I fear for the people who actually sit and listen to his nonsense because his words may be killing their brain cells and neurogenesis may not be replacing any of them this time
BJ McFrisky
@Cam: Exactly. Why is this story on Queerty? I like a good political story, but they’re beginning to get carried away with their politics around here.
Captain proton
@ChiChi Man: Millions of people have died / been murdered for your nonsense. How nice we can dismiss all the death and suffering with a couple of words.
And I was merely quoting wikipedia – please refer anti Muslim troll complaints to them, thank you very much.
KARUADAM
@ChiChi Man: Are you stupid, or what? read the fucking Koran, it dosen`t say Muhamed ever exist!.
Robroberts
PLEASE Queerty, no more articles about this psychopath at all!
I don’t care how large this guys audience is — every time I, as a gay man, hear him speak I feel damaged on some level — which is his intent. this man is pire evil and deserves to tale a dirt nap, but until then lets silence him at least where and when we can.
Thanks!
