Burning Question.

Reverend Irene Monroe's not very impressed with Barack Obama's speech: "If Obama can throw his pastor under the bus, what will he do to LGBTQ voters on his way to the White House?" [Bilerico]

Uh…did Rev. Monroe bother to listen to or read the entire speech before flapping those gums?

Oh my gooood. What is WRONG with people? Oh, yes, agenda.

Hmm, he just spent the WHOLE time actually sticking up for the dude!?? Too much if you ask me, but hey.

You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.

The Rev. has been sipping on too much of the wine.

And blind loyalty to one's reverend is a good thing?

She ought to be working for Obama, not against him. She stuck up for Wright on the Michaelangelo show, saying she goes to that church to hear Wright when in Chicago. Weird.

Obama is the black George Bush? That's really a stretch. Obama is a constitutional scholar and a brilliant speaker–George Bush can barely pronounce his own name.

I agree with comment 9 and 10. When Oprah spoke of how the "truth" dripped from his tongue, I knew we were gonna be in for some interesting stuff. His lies are already coming out, he's a member of a racist church, uses an "ex-gay" gospel singer in one of his rallys, refused to have a photo op with Gavin. Yeah, starting to sound like a different color of the same bullshit we've had the last 8 years. We've watched how blind the conservatives are, now lets watch the liberals do the same thing.

The black George Bush? That is rich indeed. The Hillary supporters are such haters! The first woman president should get there on her own merits - not riding the coat tails of her charismatic skirt chasing husband. You don't see Michelle and Barak running around saying Two for One! Hillary would make a great VP like Cheney and Al Gore - and then go away! Did Hillary campaign for Gore? Or Kerry? No, she sat and waited until the time was right for her to pounce… Winning two elections doesn't make a Presidential candidate.

Get there on her merits, please. Is that something especially set aside for women? I suppose its fine for a man to have relatives in politics and ride on their coat tails, but a woman? No, she must rise from the bottom, why? Because she is a woman. Thats the most sexiest thing I have heard in ages. And by the way, I am not a Hillary supporter. I think they are all liars and hypocrites and I could care less if either of them make it. As if they are going to do anything for LGBTs anyway.

People should listen to Obama's speech and draw their own conclusions. I found it to be honest and real. It gives Obama credibility to discuss an issue like this in such a forthright and direct way. The man is incredibly decent.

Up until yesterday, March 19th, I was not a supporter of Sen. Obama. Today, I have been changed and am now in a state of indecision as to who I will support. Its all because I took the time to print out the text of Sen. Obama's speech given this past Tuesday (quite lengthy). I read it on the bus on the way home from work last night. His call to reconciliation, healing and unity is powerful, profound, and SPOT ON.

If this man isn't our next president, he will undoubtedly continue to make our nation proud with his service.

What would he do to LGBT people?

I dunno — I doubt he would sign the three most homophobic laws in US history (DADT, DOMA and the HIV immigration ban) — only people named "Clinton" do that.
