$1.2 million — The jury award to California’s Newport Beach police Sgt. Neil Harvey, a 27-year veteran, who sued the department after being passed over for a promotion from sergeant to lieutenant numerous times because his then boss, Police Chief Bob McDonell, thought he was gay, and never promoted homos.
