Cali Episcopal Diocese Embraces Gays

andrush.jpg
Breaking from the national Episcopal’s “gay restraint,” the California Diocese vowed to continue blessing same-sex unions. Bishop Marc Andrus said in a written statement:

I will continue to represent the Diocese in the ongoing Church and Communion-wide conversations on the full inclusion of LGBT people. I think the resolution properly augments my pastoral goal of caring alike for all of the people of the diocese, not reinforcing damaging distinctions.

The move should come as no surprise: Andrus has continually fought for gay rights and supports openly gay Bishop Gene Robinson, whose ascension sparked the international row.

Would be way cool, as the kids say, if this guy in the picture came out.

I praise my brother in Christ, +Marc, for his righteous stand on a fearless egalitarian ministry to all of Christ’s families.

In the Canadian and American Churches, there are those who stand against the uncanonical actions of the Primate of Nigeria in blackmailing the other parts of the Communion to adopt his pseudo Shari’a theocratic views. Nigerians are mostly Muslims and this man seeks converts by espousing homophobia to the level of capital punishment.

My brother+Marc and I and other bishops throughout the Communion, prefer the voice of our brother, +Desmond, retired of Johannesburg, who is supportive of our cause, and more, was instrumental in making the Union of South Africa the fifth nation on earth to pass legal civil marriage.
