Cali School Honcho Steps Up: Gay Nups Have Nothing To Do With Education

California’s social conservatives thought they’d be a bit clever and claim gay marriage would require schools to teach youngsters all about same-sex nuptials. Thus, they urge voters to vote “Yes” on Proposition 8, which would overturn the state Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling.

Well, those claims are simply not true, and California superintendent of schools Jack O’Connell comes out in a new commercial to call such claims as “shameful.”

This is a very good ad. The right tone, right wording, emotionally appealing, etc. Glad to see my dollars going for something that could actually help defeat this proposition.

I agree. I haven’t been thrilled with all the ads, but this one is very good.

In almost all respects Jack O’Connell has let the California public education system become even worse under his leadership. This is the first thing I’ve seen him do that I find commendable. But this is pretty good!

The ads are getting better, but they have a long way to go and not much time. With such a huge creative pool in the gay community, why do the ads suck? The best I’ve seen so far are the Homotracker ads specifically the Molly Ringwald one where it shows that hetero families have nothing to fear.
They also need to expose The Cult of Joseph Smith of Latter Day Sheep.
