California ThisClose to Calling Off ‘Gay Cure’ Search

With a unanimous 36-0
vote
from the California State Senate, and as soon as the Assembly has a chance to issue a final vote and Gov. Schwarzenegger slaps his name on it, the state will finally repeal the 43-year-old law that mandated California’s Department of Mental Health to “plan, conduct and cause to be conducted scientific research into the causes and cures of sexual deviation, including deviations conducive to sex crimes against children, and the causes and cures of homosexuality, and into methods of identifying potential sex offenders.”
