Campfield's Bad Education Fails

A Tennessee House subcommittee squashed Representative Stacey Campfield's proposed prohibition on "gay talk" in the state's elementary and middle schools. The ACLU, the state Department and a number of other activists argued against the law. The House ruled that endorsing Campfield's measure would infringe on the Board of Education's turf. The fact that this was shot down so quickly suggests Campfield knew goddamn well it would never get traction even before he went public with the idea, and further suggests he was just trolling via hot-button topic for easy ink. Someone from Tennessee would know better than I – perhaps that’s all Campfield’s EVER been good for.
