Can Colbert Turn Solmonese Straight?

Comedy Central aired part two of HRC honcho Joe Solmonese's sit down with tongue-in-cheek king Stephen Colbert. Watch as the boys talk about Congressional calluses, whether we gays can be blamed for Don't Ask, Don't Tell and when Colbert decided to be straight: late November of 1982. Why? He's lazy and being gay takes a lot of work.

And, of course, the comedian tries to lobby Solmonese to the straight side - they're soft, they smell good, they have vaginas. Unfortunately Somonese doesn't bite. Nor does he high-five.

Might I say, I've never been so entertained by Solmonese. (Well, maybe second to listening him waver on ENDA.)

Well done, sir.

I couldn't be interviewed by Colbert. It'd be too hard to keep a straight face.

Colbert is so hilarious. I love his segment "Fruit Juice" from the Daily Show years ago where he interviews Cathy Renna of GLAAD and wants to know details about her first lesbian experience.

I love Stephen Colbert. He did more for us in this bit than Solmonese did.

that last "thank you" was the best "fuck you" to the homo hating-constitution-amending wingnuts ever.

Does Solomonese think that Colbert is a real "pundit"? Is he just playing along with Colbert's schtick? If he is not aware of Colbert and his act then this guy is more out of touch than I realized.

I am not a fan of Solomese but I always give him credit where it is due. I thought he did a great job in his Colbert interview which must be a real challenge to do.
