Capt. Jack: Gay Tested, Kid Approved

Kids say the darndest – and awesomest – things. Out actor John Barrowman, who plays the bisexual Captain Jack on Britain’s Dr. Who spinoff, Torchwood, recalls a very special moment:

I was doing another kind of signing thing at a press conference where I was signing autographs and a little boy came up to me with his father. The father said do you want Captain Jack’s autograph? The little boy [said] “Oh, yes, Daddy. I don’t care if he likes boys or girls, he’s my hero.”

And here we thought all British children were little monsters.

For all of you Americans lusting after Captain Jack, you’re in luck: Torchwood debuts on BBC America September 8th.
