Carson Kressley Is Going to Give America An Oprah-Powered Makeover, One Town At A Time

Once upon a time (circa 2008) Lifetime signed Carson Kressley to a talk show deal. It never materialized. But along came Oprah’s new cable network OWN and rumors it was developing shows for both lesbian chef Cat Cora and the Queer Eye fashionista — but then OWN sked him to host Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star, Oprah’s search for a protege, so I thought that might be the big Carson-OWN project. Nope: Carson-Nation was greenlighted by OWN. With a March premiere, the show — going intro proudction next month — will feature Carson running around the country making over one town at a time. No wonder: It’s producers are also behind Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. We knew OWN had gone gay, but not this gay.
