» Playing Gay?

Musician Eminem will reportedly portray Elton John in an early years biopic. Said one source: "Eminem was not keen on kissing any men, so this early biopic is ideal for him. He gets to play Elton before he started all that gay stuff." So, is that B.G.? [Pink News - Fooled us!]

Hip-hop may not be the most gay friendly musical genre, but that hasn't stopped homo Quentin Harris. Though he insists he doesn't want to be categorized as a "gay musician," Harris remains completely open about his queer experience, including growing up in Detroit's hip-hop scene, where hung with Eminem and company:

It wasn’t easy to come out but when you come out you tend to know how to be smart about those things. I was fortunate in that I was always quiet as a kid. I’ve met people from school years later and found out they were gay and they found out I was and they’d be like ‘we had no idea, we had no clues’. I’ve never worn my sexuality on my arm.

Harris also offered his own hypothesis on why some hip-hoppers stick to their anti-gay guns: "I think it’s because of the street elements within in, (it’s caused by) that whole concept or not being seen as a weak individual.”

• Actress Sharon Stone simply can't wait around for the right man:

[Stone] is sick of men who "act like women" and claims she would rather be romanced by a "masculine" lady.

Sharon - who famously played a bisexual serial killer in 'Basic Instinct' - claimed: "Everybody is bisexual to an extent. Now men act like women and it is difficult to have a relationship because I like men in that old-fashioned way. I like masculinity and, in truth, only women do that now.

The 49-year old also says she likes "lesbian sports," like fishing and golf. She's a full blown dyke!

Homo Hip-Hopper Deadlee made his CNN debut last night with these words on his arch-nemesis, Eminem:

I think he's trying to pick on the people who he thinks are weak, and can't defend themselves. And I'm kind of stepping up to the game with all kinds of homorappers and saying, we're not weak, we can go head to head with you in the rap game, and even in a political stance, and say we're here. You can't be picking on us. It's so easy for peope to say 'I hate gays'. It's the one group of people that it's still okay to hate on.

Word.

The HomoRevolution gay hip-hop tour may be two months away, but it's never too early for headlining gay rapper Deadlee to make some headlines of his own. Reflecting on the musical genre's notoriously homophobic ethos, Deadlee had some pretty vitriolic words for the hetero-hoppers, including unabashedly homophobic rapper 50 Cent:

Fuck him. I don't like ignorant bitches around me, so he can suck my gun. He is a classic man who had Homo-feelings and chooses to lash out because he is afraid he might act out on his true feelings. 50 Cent has deep rooted homosexual tendencies.

"Suck my gun", huh? Must be thug talk for dick. We're totally going to use that…

The preposterously named Deadlee also had some words from that cracker ass, Eminem:

Eminem was called out for his juvenile, hateful approach to homosexuality, especially in his song 'Criminal'… He was the biggest rapper at the time and if he used the same song as a diss to Blacks or Latinos, he would probably be dead. Eminem likes to pick on the 'weak' but gay[z] ain't weak and he might be a fag himself. He knew all the subcultures in that song.

So, basically, all homophobic rappers are gay. We didn't need to listen to their songs to tell you that. Shit, Eminem's named himself after a sweet - that fucking candy ass. As for 50…well, rumor has it that's how many dicks he can fit in his ass. Quite an over achiever, huh?

Deadlee and his homo-hopping homies will be touring the country starting in March. For more on the tour, click here.

amanda and cazwell

Cazwell has always been one of Queerty’s favorite downtown scenesters. Think Eminem meets Amanda Lepore. He is a hip-hop’s highest ranking homo and his new record deserves mad props, um, we mean, your attention.

It takes balls to reinvent Loose Joints’ disco classic “Is It All Over My Face.” Yes, it's the song from Paris is Burning and Cazwell pulls it off. Rapping about the sex-crazed, pre-AIDS days he reinvents the disco gem into dirty rap. And it so works.

With lyrics as filthy “it’s all over your face, tell me how does it taste” how could we not love it? West End Records has the MP3s to download.

homohop.jpg

The usually anti-gay hip-hop world has gone all bleeding-heart on us lately. First you have Kanye West bashing homophobia followed by Sean Paul calling for people to "free up their thinking." You'd think this was all new, but we've actually had gay-friendly hip-hop for years now in the form of Homohop (yes, it's exactly what it sounds like).

And homohop even has had its own annual queer festival.

Over the past five years, GLBT hip-hop artists have been making the trek across the bay from San Francisco to Oakland for the PeaceOUT festival. It's three days of queer hip-hop music, spoken word and dance. Click here for more info on this year’s blowout.

Homohop has also been getting some recent play in film. A new documentary rolling out the history of the genre, Pick Up the Mic, premiered at the Toronoto film festival last month. But don't expect the lightheartedness of Truth or Dare. It tackles "homophobia, gender identification issues, and suicide." No plans for a release date just yet.

But will homohop cross into the mainstream recruting even more warm and fuzzies from haters like, say, Eminem? It's safe to say he'll use the word "faggot" on his next album but not the way homohop's Deadlee, "the faggot with a gat," will at PeaceOUT.

Eminem

Yes. We know he's a homophobe. But we'd still do Eminem. If Elton can forgive him so can we.
