"Many homosexuals and their sex partners may sincerely believe they can be good parents. But children are not guinea pigs for grand social experiments in redefining marriage, and should not be placed in settings that are unsuitable for raising children." - Family Research Council's Timothy Dailey on just one of the "facts" that "counterfeit" same-sex marriage should be opposed. He also discusses "serial promiscuity" among the gays. [FRC]

Anti-gay non-profit Family Research Council has been lying up a storm. First they drag out a right wing lawyer who equates gay unions with polygamy by saying people can have countless unions, partnerships or marriages across the States. Then FRC leader Tony Perkins attacks the California ruling by saying the court stepped over the legislature, but fails to mention that the legislature has twice passed gay marriage. Being such an asshole has obviously melted his brain. [Good As You]

Family Research Council's Peter Sprigg had plenty to say about the Uniting American Families Act, which eliminates discrimination for same-sex binational couples looking to set up shop in the States.

Said Sprigg to Northwestern University graduate student Sirena Rubinoff :

We oppose this bill because it is, although it may be at the margins, part of an assault on the definition of family…I would much prefer to export homosexuals from the United States than to import them into the United States because we believe homosexuality is destructive to society.

Crazy! We were going to say the same thing about illiberal pricks like Sprigg!

Will GOP Learn An Evolutionary Lesson?

gopbones.jpg
The Republicans' actions and words at this weekend's Values Voter Summit prove one thing: the party simply refuses to evolve. Editor Andrew Belonsky explains why the Grand Old Party needs to embrace change, look beyond the walls of social conservatism and expand its definition of family values.

Joins FRC "Values" Conference

Rudy Giuliani simply couldn't resist.

The Republican presidential candidate will kiss conservative ass at this month's Family Research Council sponsored Values Voters Summit.

Today FRC Action announced that GOP presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani will speak at the Washington Briefing 2007: Values Voter Summit on Saturday morning October 20. Former Mayor Giuliani becomes the eighth presidential hopeful to commit to address the largest gathering of pro-family activists in the nation's capital. The Democratic candidates have so far declined but were offered time on an equal basis.

The former NYC mayor will join the likes of Tony Perkins, Phyllis Schlafly, Rick Santorum and other baddies.

The final concoction will no doubt be as putrid as their politics.

Taking Bunk Science To Virtual Digs

paulcameron-1.jpg
Anti-gay activist Paul Cameron can't be bothered with fact checking and reputable science. No, rather than enlisting editors to publish their slanted, unscientific and dangerous reports on gay people, Cameron and his cronies at the Family Research Institute are starting their own online journal.

Via Box Turtle Bulletin:

FRI is doing something exciting — we are starting an online scientific journal! It is entitled the Empirical Journal of Same Sexual Behavior (EJSSB)

Not too many years ago, launching a scientific journal was a colossal undertaking. First, you had to assemble an editorial board and get capitalized sufficiently to be able to print and ship the journal. Then you had to find a way to get libraries of the world to subscribe — hopefully covering all or most of your costs. Daunting to put it mildly.

Daunting? Try terrifying! Now Cameron, who apparently admired the Nazi's anti-gay ways, can spread his "empirical" observations without having to worry about editorial oversight. God bless the internet.

Family Research Council's taking their protracted war against proposed hate crime legislation to the next level. Hosted by FRC president Tony Perkins, the 40 minute documentary Hate Crime Laws: Censoring the Church and Silencing Christians hopes to "enlighten" voters on the "dangers" posed by hate crimes.

You see, in their tiny little minds, queer inclusive hate crime laws will be used to censor their anti-gay rhetoric. God makes no mistakes? Yeah, right!!

Pressuring Senator To Vote "No"

cwops-1.jpg
Family Research Council have put their anti-hate crime law crusade into overdrive. The "family" champions are circulating a recorded message asking Tennessee voters to pressure Senator Lamar Alexander into voting against the bill.

The Christian group's worried Alexander, who has previously voted for similar legislation in 2004, plans to vote for the hate crime law, which, as you all know, will lead to our planet's hellish destruction.

Now they're pulling out all the telephonic stops to stop Alexander…

The Senatorial Matthew Shephard Hate Crimes Prevention Act (aka S. 1105) may get a vote as early as today after Senators Ted Kennedy and Gordon Smith filed the act as an amendment to the Department of defense reauthorization bill.

The move comes just hours after those Gravel-dissers HRC released a letter signed by 1300 religious leaders urging the Senate to follow in the House of Representatives' footsteps.

"Family" Researcher "Defends" Marriage

morehorsesass12.jpg
We've got some bad news for you guys - gays are completely and utterly worthless. At least that's what Peter Sprigg says in an infuriating op-ed over at USA Today.

The Family Research Council policy Vice-President (pictured, looking a lot like Michael Savage) insists that states should not allow gay nuptials not only because "the legal and financial benefits of marriage are not an entitlement for every citizen regardless of lifestyle," but because we're simply not reproductive enough…

Enemies Question Familial Facts

gaydc3.jpg
There's a new player on the gay marriage playing field. California based gay think tank, The Rockway Institute, has gathered 100 gay politicos, scientists and leaders to serve as potential Congressional witnesses in the ever-important debates. The Institute's founder, psychology professor Robert-Jay Green explains the need for his dream team:

Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council are basically media machines churning out press releases, policy reports, appearing on talks shows constantly conveying their messages and distorting the actual research findings.

There is not a single iota of scientific evidence showing that children raised by lesbian and gay parents do less well than children raised by a heterosexual mother and father.

Not surprisingly, Focus on The Family rebukes Green's queer claims…

This weekend's The World Congress of Families in Poland will be a veritable who's who of homo-haters. The Family Research Council, Concerned Women For America, the American Family Association, Focus on the Family and a slew of other conservatives will gather to discuss Europe's so-called slow decent into "post-modern West" hell.

From the Congress' website:

Europe is almost lost; to a demographic winter and to the secularists. If Europe goes much of the world will go with it. Almost alone, Poland has maintained strong faith and strong families, though even Poland comes under severe pressure to change. Poland has saved Europe before. It is likely she will save Europe again.

When they say "save", of course, they mean: eradicate any and all threats to the Christian, heterosexist agenda. No wonder they chose Poland.

Talk about timing. Just as politicians gear up to debate The Employment Non-Discrimination Act, the American Family Association offers its dedicated readers a chance to pipe in on the politicized proposal. They write:

Several corporations are now supporting the homosexual agenda. These companies have been convinced by homosexual activists and the mainstream media that in order to be 'fair and tolerant,' companies must make special rules for homosexuals and provide company money and resources to help promote their lifestyle. Many companies, at the urging of these groups, have also begun to support same-sex marriage.

"Special rules"? Ain't nothing special about 'em, dudes. They're simply the same rights already afforded straight couples. That said, it seems to us it's the straights who have "special" rights. Maybe the AFA uses the same dictionary as Family Research Council. How convenient, especially considering many of their members probably don't know the meaning, anyway.

You kids do, of course, so you should head on over and make your voice heard, too. Be sure to enter your security word. Ours was "tendon", which gave us a bit of a laugh.
