Paula Abdul: Straight Up Herself

Paula Abdul’s come under heavy fire in recent days.

As we all know, the American Idol host kind of screwed up last week when she misspoke and said she had heard both of Jason Castro’s songs when, in fact, he had only performed one.

Well, Colin Schoenberger of NewNowNext recently spoke with the entertainer and got to the bottom of how the snafu went down. We would go into the details, but it’s complicated and, quite frankly, not as interesting as this: …People talk about Madonna being the queen of reinvention - and while I applaud her - I don’t know anyone who’s reinvented themselves more than me, and created monumental, ginormous … Continued…

Contentious Cancelation…

There’s some gay drama in Moldova, where Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has banned this Sunday’s gay pride march. Like resistant and tenacious activists, however, the homos refuse to go-go: “According to the new Moldovan law on public manifestations, local authorities have no right to prohibit a public manifestation, [organizers] say. If the authorities have proof that there could be serious trouble at an event like Gay Pride march, then it is the decision of a court of law as to any ban.” [UK Gay News]

Obama Knows His Gay Stores

Politicians are human. Humans are animals. And, as we all know, animals like to have a bit of fun, even when the human is Barack Obama campaigning across the country.

That helps explain why the Democratic presidential candidate recently played a carefree game of Taboo with press and staff aboard his campaign plane. For those of you who don’t know, Taboo involves picking a card, which will contain a term or saying and the player must get their teammates to guess it. They cannot, however, use certain prohibited words. It’s great fun.

Anyway, as mentioned, Obama recently played and helped produce this humorous anecdote: When [Obama assistant Reggie] Love described the Gap as “where … Continued…

“Greek” Kissing.

ABC Family television show Greek will soon make itself even more party of the “family” when gay character Calvin (played by Paul James, pictured] smooches his new romantic interest, Chris. And, as an added spin, the couple’s interracial! The scandal! [AfterElton]

Anthony Gallo’s Got It

It’s an absolutely dreadful, dreary day on the east coast today, so we thought you kids could use a little sunshine.

Since we can’t control the weather, we’re delivering said burst via these Bell Soto snapped shots of Vision model Anthony Gallo.

Quite the burst, no?

DA Discusses King Murder Case

The ongoing drama surrounding Lawrence King’s February murder took another twist yesterday.

California Judge postponed the arraignment of 14-year old Brandon McInerney, who’s accused of shooting fifteen year old King, who had a crush on the boy. The arraignment was meant to take place yesterday, but will now occur on June 12.

In the meantime, journalist Karen Ocamb had a chat with District Attorney Maeve Fox, who discussed the limited possibility of a plea bargain, why McInerney represents a very adult threat and, yes, took on the defense team’s claim that the school is to blame for King’s murder

Robert Gant Makes Us Melt

Robert Gant’s a rarity in Hollywood. First of all, he went to law school. Second, he’s openly gay. And, as testament to our changing times, continues to get work.

The handsome 39-year old will soon appear in the here! network’s Kiss Me Deadly, on which Gant plays the first gay spy whose post-espionage life goes haywire after the return of an old friend, Shannen Doherty. The movie will hopefully be the first in a series, but Gant’s not sitting on his honches. He’s also just wrapped Special Delivery, a Lifetime movie in which Lisa Edelstein plays his love interest. Yes, a gay man’s playing straight: a growing - and welcome - in Hollywood.

Gant recently sat down with our editor to discuss the ins-and-outs of being homo in Hollywood, not being perfect and why Gant loves his life.

Ohio Not Okay, Say Some Gays

The majority of local gays may enjoy living in Columbus, Ohio, but not everything’s peachy keen:
[A survey of about 3,400] found that:

• More than half the participants were in committed relationships, and 80 percent want the right to legally marry in Ohio.

• Nearly 60 percent said they had been called names, threatened, stalked, intimidated or had personal property defaced because of their sexual orientation.

• More than half said they had experienced discrimination; among that group, two of three reported workplace discrimination.

• Thirteen percent either had not been tested for HIV or did not know their HIV status. None of these are good things, of course…

Back To Gay Porn For ‘Janice’ Model

The Hills girls may be incomprehensibly famous, but not all reality stars live their caviar dreams. For example, Rodrigo De Carli left his gay porn star life at Rascal videos to join the ranks of Janice Dickinson’s Modeling Agency.

Well, things didn’t turn out quite the way he wanted, because the De Carli’s gone back to his dick sticking ways: …De Carli AKA Claudio Martin (who was originally a Rascal Video Exclusive) is returning to XXX films this summer in two upcoming Lucas productions: Flatiron Fuckers and Pounding the Pavement.

In a press released issued by Lucas Entertainment today it states that the former reality TV star will be featured in the film … Continued…

McGreeveys Reach Custody Deal

“Delighted.” is just one adjective Jim McGreevey’s lawyers used yesterday when discussing the custody settlement McGreevey reached with his almost ex-wife, Dina Matos-McGreevey. The former first couple of New Jersey have been duking it out all week over their five-year old daughter, Jacqueline.

Despite the fact that these two people can’t stand one another, they somehow managed to reach an agreement, although both sides remain mum on the details: The deal regarding their 6-year-old daughter came on the third day of negotiations, which included some closed-door testimony before the judge who is attempting to avoid a divorce trial.

“She’ll get a large amount of time to spend with her parents,” McGreevey said of his … Continued…

It’s A Bitch…

Those pesky anti-gay marriage laws are such a pain. Rhode Island based lesbians Margaret Chambers and Cassandra Ormiston are stuck in a loveless Massachusetts marriage because RI judges won’t dissolve same-sex marriages, which the state doesn’t recognize. Next stop: the state’s Superior Court. Then, the world! [WCSH-6]

Dropped.

“A shareholder proposal to amend Verizon Communications Inc.’s written equal employment policy to explicitly prohibit discrimination based on gender identity was voted down May 1, but backers of the plan say they were encouraged by the amount of support it got, and the group that proposed the resolution will bring it back next year.” [Pam’s House Blend]

A Reminder On Bastard Baby-Fathering, Drunk Driving Politico

Those of you outside of New York probably aren’t following this story, but State Island Representative Vito Fossella grabbed headlines last week when he was arrested for drunk driving.

Well, as can expected, the Republican politico’s private life has been getting probed like you wouldn’t believe. One of the juicier details: the married father of two had an illicit affair - and bastard child - with another woman.

It’s good old-fashioned fun, of course, and Pride Agenda just made it even more of a knee-slapper by reminding us of Fossella’s predictable political history: “…We thought it would be useful to remind people that the Staten Island Representative had voted not once … Continued…
