Madness.
Here’s some sorta gay chatter: “Which young star — who plays gay on his hot TV show — has a taste for significantly older women?” On another, possibly unrelated note, did anyone notice last night that newly gayed Erik on Gossip Girl made nary an appearance at his mother’s engagement party, or whatever that fancy event was? Plot device out! [NYDN] Respond» |

Gossip Boys A Fightin’?
Gossip Girl actor and bushy-eyebrow sporting Chace Crawford’s popularity threatens to destroy the show, the world and, yes, even the universe: The show’s men, Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley and Ed Westwick, are battling over screen time and general media attention. The problem? Audiences have gone gaga for Chace. The girls and the gays alike have brought the buzz his way, thanks to smoldering good looks and boyish charm. “Penn was supposed to be the show’s break-out star and now it is obviously Chace, and Penn doesn’t like it,” said one insider. …Jealousy still reared its head Monday night at the Met’s Costume Institute ball. Both Penn and Chace walked the red carpet, but it was Chace who … Continued… 11 Responses» |

Gossip Girl: The Super Evil Outing Video!
Coming out’s invariably an awkward occasion, but nothing could be - or should be! - quite like the forced disclosure seen on this week’s super gay Gossip Girl. |

Gay Gossip Girl Revealed
Gossip Girl last night aired a pretty satisfying coming out episode. As we all already know, Serena’s super-little brother Erik found his way out of the closet - and with predictably sensational results. After the jump, some via Towleroad video from the episode. Bonus points if someone can get us the actual scene of Michelle Trachtenberg’s character outing him at the dinner table, which proved to us how evil this girl is - shockingly, we’re not avid fans of this show, although the final scene made us want to tune in next week. Who doesn’t love high school girls with terrible secrets!? |

Gay Gossip Girl Gossip Won’t Quit
A bit of Hollywood’s tangled web comes undone this afternoon. Page Six recently “reported” that Gossip Girl beauty Leighton Meester had been seen with an attractive male companion. That companion, as Gawker points out, was New York magazine journalist Chris Rovzar, who reveals that Page Six’s “tipster” was, in fact, Meester’s publicist. …A couple of weeks after the male half of us met with Leighton at Lunetta, an item appeared in “Page Six” about her having an intimate dinner there with a “hot male companion.” How flattering! And how exciting to be part of the real-life gossip that surrounds our favorite show. It would have been the highlight of our month, had we not known that a publicist for the show placed the item… Rovzar and journalistic cohort Jessica Pressler go on to deduce the item was meant to create some titillating buzz for Meester’s show, as well as the restaurant. We can’t help but feel there’s something more queer afoot. |
Convenient.
Not gay Chace Crawford was spotted canoodling with trollish actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who costars on his hit soap, Gossip Girl. No word on whether they had a publicist hidden under the table. [NY Post] 5 Responses» |

Anne H. Loves The Gays
Hello, readers! Editor Andrew here! I felt it best to introduce this interview in first person, because I’ve known this particular subject for - well, longer than I care to mention. And I’m sure Annie “Anne” Hathaway wouldn’t want you to know that we met dangerously close to a dumpster. The horror! (But, seriously, she was moving into her dorm at college when I stumbled by and thrust myself upon her, the way I start all my serious relationships.) Anyway, Hathaway’s currently in Los Angeles, where she’ll receive the Human Rights Campaign’s Ally Award. Rumor has it HRC has a hit out on me, so I unfortunately wasn’t able attend this evening’s festivities. Luckily, Hathaway made some time yesterday to have a chat with me, to whom she’s always been quite the ally. We touched on some predictable topics, but I also threw her for a loop with some curve balls. For example, “Should Sally Kern be censured?” and “Does Hollywood condone the closet?” Hathaway handled herself like a pro, of course and I offer Annie many thanks for being a friend. We’ve traveled down that road and back again. Her heart is true. She’s a pal and a confidant. And if Annie Hathaway threw a party, invited everyone she knew, you would see that the biggest gift would be from me. And the card attached would say, “Thank you for being a friend.” Now that I’ve proven my gayness by quoting the Golden Girls theme, dive into that there jump and read what Hathaway had to say for her pretty self… [Image by Jeremy Kost] |

Chace Chased By Gals, Says “Spy”
What queer timing! As the blogs are gabbing about Chace Crawford and JC Chasez being gay live-in lovers, a “spy” tells NY Post (pictured) that the actor’s been getting down to lady business: Chace Crawford had anything but girlfriend Carrie Underwood on his mind in Las Vegas over the weekend. The Gossip Girl hunk was “surrounded by women” at Tao Friday night, and they were “dancing wildly and pawing on each other” and drinking Cristal and shots of Patron with former boybander JC Chasez. Giants star Michael Strahan hosted the party. “People came to congratulate him on his Super Bowl win all night,” said our spy. A hot young actor with gaggles … Continued… 4 Responses» |

Happy Endings: Barney Frank Speaks Up
• Gay Rep. Barney Frank wrote an ENDA-related guest post for The Bilerico Project. We then began the work on passing a transgender inclusive ENDA. I was optimistic at first that we could do this, although I knew it would be hard. One of the problems I have found over the years of discussing this is an unwillingness on the part of many, including leaders in the transgender community, to acknowledge a fact: namely that there is more resistance to protection for people who are transgender than for people who are gay, lesbian and bisexual. |
