AZ. Pol Takes On Gay “Genital Drives”
Anti-gay activists can be pretty scary, but there are also times when their irrational lunacy becomes comic. Consider, for example, Tuscon-based Congressional hopeful - and thirteen time loser - Joe Sweeney. When asked by a local journalist to discuss gay marriage, he starts by decrying the “social chaos” and then, in an unexpected twist of hilarious insanity, equates gay loving - aka “genital drives” - with Mexican whorehouses. The reporter’s rightfully confused. Too bad Sweeney’s explanation veers even further into madness. Read and watch, after the jump. |

AZ. Police Arrest One After Pride Attack
Rest easy, readers, for at least one of our great nation’s not-so-great homophobes has been arrested: A 24-year-old Flagstaff man has been charged with aggravated assault for an incident following a gay-pride festival that police called a hate crime. Travis A. Reiner also faces misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct charges. Three other men were arrested but have not been charged. Flagstaff police reports say two men who had attended the Pride in the Pines gay-pride festival were assaulted. One victim, who is gay, was briefly hospitalized. Police said one of the suspects made anti-gay slurs. We’ve said it before and we’ll no doubt say it again: crime doesn’t pay. Unless you’re a robber, but definitely not … Continued… 1 Response» |
Cruel.
“[Homophobic] taunting and bullying often goes unnoticed by teachers, and administrators have few policies in place to handle it. Only 11 states have enacted laws to protect schoolchildren from being bullied specifically because of sexual orientation.” [ABC News] 1 Response» |

Ugandan “Ethics” Minister Says God Against Gays, Calls For Witch Hunt
James Nsaba Buturo simply can’t help himself! The Ugandan “Ethics” Minister, who has long pledged to fight the homosexual scourge besieging his homeland, recently insisted that anti-gay activists shouldn’t fear violent repercussions because God’s on their side: Dr Buturo told Africa’s Sunday Monitor that there is no need to beef up security for anti-gay activists in Uganda because God is protecting them. “It’s true gays are rough people but men of God should not fear their intimidation. Ugandans should strengthen their mobilisation against the gay movement because the government is also committed to support them,” he said. Buturo also spoke about how the gays have infiltrated local schools and are “luring” students to … Continued… 10 Responses» |

With regard to Insure.com’s blog spreading anti-gay myths about gay life expectancy: “[CEO Robert Bland] wrote a response defending his company’s material, and he has left other comments on this web site which suggest that Insure.com has little interest in factual accuracy or professional responsibility. With these latest comments, whatever hope we first held that Insure.com would act responsibly and in the best interests of their customers, shareholders and participating agencies has now vanished.” [BTB] 1 Response» |

Ian McKellan Downplays Anti-Gay Death Threats
Ian McKellen made the decision to come out in 1988. Though loads of political and social progress has been made since then, the actor insists he still receives his fair share of anti-gay threats. None, however, are as pressing as the real violence many homos face on the day-to-day: “There are deaths in public places on the grounds that the victim is gay,” said McKellen in a BBC interview. “There is a violence of language which can be related to violence in action,” added McKellen a founder member of gay rights group Stonewall. “My own death threats have declined considerably. I think I’ve become rather boring now to the public at large on this particular … Continued… 2 Responses» |

Under Coverage.
Publicly traded Insure.com’s blog hosted two entries in which employee Joe White described homosexuality as “the biggest risk to life expectancy that goes unrecognized by insurance companies.” Being gay, he goes on, all the while citing bunk research, can be just as disastrous as smoking. Insure.com CEO Bob Bland promised to investigate the matter, but did point out that insurance companies do regularly reject people based on HIV status and other “risky hobbies.” Still, he insists the company wants “to do a wider-ranging issue that is fair and balanced…” Bill O’Reilly voices Insure.com’s commercials. Queer Denials.
Anti-gay Alabaman Attorney General Troy King’s currently caught in quite the scandal: “A spokesperson for Alabama Governor Bob Riley denied that Attorney General Troy King is preparing to resign in the wake of a massive rumor campaign that has yet to be fully confirmed. The word is, according to multiple sources in Montgomery and elsewhere, that King was recently caught by his wife in a gay affair with a male aide and banished from his home.” Some are saying that King’s alleged gay lover is either an old college chum or a “very young youngster” from a local college. Diehard Evangelicals Would Rather Die Than Diversify
The Evangelical movement has been undergoing a bit of an evolution. While family values once dominated their agenda, the younger generations are expanding their horizon by getting involved in the anti-war movement, cleaning up the environment and taking on more universal social responsibilities. Horrified by the 21st century and the prospect of change, more ardent evangelicals are speaking out against those damned whipper-snappers. |

Premeditated.
Hungarian secret service agents knew ahead of time which anti-gay activists planned on attacking last weekend’s gay pride march, but didn’t arrest anyone because that would “not be democratic,” according to state secretary Imre Iváncsik. The fifty-seven people who were arrested go to trial today. We don’t have high hopes for justice… [Caboodle] 3 Responses» |
Reggae Artists Have “Straight” Pride
You’ve got to be fucking kidding us: A group of reggae artists, backed by their record label, will openly embrace their heterosexuality this upcoming Labor Day weekend. “Although reggae is known for its militancy and its resistance to injustice,” TCOOO Productions proclaimed, “the reggae community has remained calm throughout the attack on the music by Peter Tatchell and other Gay activists (sic) groups.” |

Gay Sauna Bombed In Budapest
Things are heating up in Budapest. And not in a good way. In the early hours of Wednesday, the Magnum gay sauna was was attacked. And the gay rights group Patent is worried that the police are not providing adequate protection to gay establishments and the LGBT Festival as promised earlier. Four petrol bombs were thrown into the sauna. The perpetrators are said to have called the sauna before the attack, just as in the case of the gay bar that had been bombed last Friday, to check if there were people inside, a Patent spokesperson said.. Well, at least they were courteous enough to check in, right? This is the second attack on a gay … Continued… 6 Responses» |
Brainless?
Citing a recent spike in HIV infection among gay men, she-beast activist Linda Harvey implores her fellow backward peers to ramp up the fight against gay clubs in schools. Shrieks Harvey, “When are public health officials going to intervene and shut down homosexual clubs and other pro-homosexual programs in our schools?” Because, you know, supporting struggling teens somehow increases HIV infection.
