Kevin Ronan

Just a little follow-up to our earlier report on Navy doctor Kevin Ronan's gay porn sex tape guilty verdict: the Navy judicial system handed out 46 months (nearly four years) in a Navy brig.

46 months obviously clocks in less than the ten years alluded to earlier. And, of course, way less than the maximum 27 year conviction.

Gay Porn Sex Tape Navy Man Guilty
Kevin Ronan Headed To The Clink

Kevin Ronan's headed to jail. After less than a day of deliberation, a jury has found disgraced Navy doctor guilty of downloading gay porn, as well as secretly taping male students having sex with their girlfriends. They must not have bought his extortion story:

The jury of five men and one woman — all Navy captains — issued their decision shortly after 11 a.m. at the Washington Navy Yard, where the general court martial was conducted against [Ronan].

He was found guilty of conduct unbecoming an officer, illegal wiretapping and obstruction of justice.

Ronan's father, Francis Ronan, said the family is "devastated."

"I did not expect this. … It's been a miserable nine months," Francis Ronan said.

Ronan has yet to be sentenced, but he could face ten years in jail, which will no doubt make the last nine months seem like a breeze.

Jury Deliberating Navy Gay Porn, Sex Tape Trial
Did Defense Cast Enough Doubt?

Kevin Ronan's no doubt squirming at the moment.

A Naval Academy jury's currently deliberating over whether or not the Navy Commander secretly taped male lodgers having sex with their girlfriends. Ronan's defense attorney used his closing arguments to cast reasonable doubt on his accusers, one of whom forged a college transcript and withheld evidence. The disgraced doctor claims the soldier and his accomplice are trying to get revenge. Prosecutors called this story ""utterly preposterous."

Ronan's defense also attempted to shoot a hole in the prosecution's downloaded porn story. A computer technician testified that someone downloaded the porn at 4:50am on January 29th. Ronan claims he had been traveling to his office at the time. He allegedly arrived there at 5am and, thus, could not have downloaded said porn.

A jury, of course, will have to decide who's telling the truth and who's up to no good. Ronan will be sentenced the moment a "guilty" verdict's read, which seems a bit unfair. At least let him have one last wank.

Navy Doc Denies Gay Sex Tape Allegations
Attempts To Pin Blame On Accuser

Commander Kevin J. Ronan told quite a tale during his sex-tape trial yesterday. The scandalized Navy man stands accused of using a secret camera to tape midshipmen making whoopee with their respective women.

Ronan admitted buying an air purifier with a hidden camera, but says he used it to monitor the men's partying, not their fornicating. He insists he would never violate his charges, describing their relationship as "parental".

Said Ronan: "I didn't do anything wrong…I felt like they were my guys."

Gay Navy Doctor Trial Marches On
Former Charge Testifies, Lies

The trial against Navy doctor Kevin J. Ronan keeps heating up. Former Navy man Andy Strasdas testified this week about how he discovered Ronan's collection of tapes Ronan secretly made of Strasdas and eight other men who stayed at his house.

Though he originally claimed to have only found two tapes, which he turned over to military officials, Strasdas admitted that he uncovered four tapes, a detail the defense used to call Strasdas' character into question. Strasdas said he hid two tapes because he feared the Navy would cover it up. What a conscientious objector…

Navy Doctor's Gay Porn To Be Evidence
Commander Accused of Taping Navy Men Having Sex

Dr. Kevin Ronan's got a lot of explaining to do. The Navy commander currently faces a number of charges stemming from videos he allegedly made of cadets having sex. And, as part of the trial, the prosecutors have successfully submitted gay porn as evidence.

Gay pornography found on the computer of a Navy doctor can be submitted as evidence in his trial on charges that he made secret video recordings of Naval Academy midshipmen having sex in his Annapolis home, a military judge ruled yesterday in a decision that could put the physician's career in jeopardy.

Ronan's defense lawyer attempted to thwart the move by claiming that one of Ronan's charges may have downloaded the porn. Prosecutors, however, also pointed to what appears to be Ronan's account with gay sex star Brent Everett's website. Ronan claims someone stole his identity and started the account, which may be the worst defense in history.
