Gay Blind Item Madness!!

Nothing starts the morning like some queer tongue wagging! This one concerns a certain lady who likes the chicas! “Which fashion designer is lying to her actor beau? While she proclaims her love for her man, New York insiders say she really prefers ‘butch Mexican and Latino women’.” Ay! (PS: Does that avocado look like a vagina? It’s been too long…) [NY Post]

Research Predicts Dry Winds, Dyke Nights

Community Marketing just sent out a very sapphic press release: “Community Marketing researchers are often asked, “What’s new in lesbian and gay market trends?” This year, the most important insights come from new, statistically significant research findings into lesbian consumers. Based on this new wealth of research and analysis, we are calling 2008 “The Year of the Lesbian…” With the help of CM’s new findings, marketers can mine useful information about lesbianic buying habits. For example, did you know that the top three lesbian magazines are People, AARP, and O Magazine. Queen lesbian and failed magazine publisher Rosie O’Donnell had no comment.

GLAAD v. ‘Post’ (Again)

The homo media watchdogs over at GLAAD ain’t happy with the NY Post. They’re demanding Rupert Murdoch’s tab-rag remove the “Evil Lesbian Mom” headline. This is just one battle in the seemingly endless war of words.

‘L Word’ Cancer Story Sparks Huge Donation

Whoever says television does not good should read this story:
…A fan of the popular show The L Word has donated $1 million to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation in the name of some the show’s most prolific stars. Actress Erin Daniels who portrays a gay breast cancer victim on the series inspired the anonymous donation.

Daniels played Dana Fairbanks, Hailey’s lover on the show, who discovered she had breast cancer in season three and eventually died of heart failure. The generous donor recognized the realism and truth the actress brought to the breast cancer story line and made the largest private donation to the Foundation ever. Meanwhile, in other L Word-related … Continued…

Lesbians Feel Holiday Stress, Says Survey

We get a lot of bullshit emails on a daily basis. Here’s a sample from a recent missive from Witeck Combs: When it comes to stress or depression during the holiday season, lesbians tend to feel both at higher levels than their heterosexual counterparts. In a new survey conducted by Harris Interactive, four out of five (80%) of lesbian adults say they tend to feel more stressed around the holidays while 64% of the heterosexual women surveyed said they tend to feel more stressed. Additionally, while half (51%) of lesbians said they tend to feel depressed around the holidays, only 36% of heterosexual women said they did. The survey also indicates that smoking’s … Continued…

Love, Lives Lost In Post-Divorce Murder

Some sad news out of Florida. Five people are dead in what appears to be a divorce drama gone terribly, horribly, nightmarishly awry.

27-year old Jennifer Davis and 36-year old Oliver Thomas Bernsdorff had been married for eight months years when Bernsdorff filed for divorce last August. Davis moved out and took up with Andrea Pisanello, whom she met at a Unitarian church and told friends she “loved”. Bernsdorrf didn’t seem to like this turn of events and reportedly began beating Davis.

Things got so bad, in fact, that Davis went to a domestic violence support group last Thursday. Her friends suggested she call the police. She didn’t. Bernsdorff shot Davis the … Continued…
