‘All Aboard’ For Family Values
We’ve gotten a few letters over the last month from folks who feel that we new Queerty editors are a bunch of stone cold bitches/a posse of Negative Nancies/a couple of stubborn queer princesses. Well today we’re going to show our softer side by admitting something potentially humiliating: this weekend we saw and enjoyed All Aboard! Rosie’s Family Cruise. While flipping channels looking for one of those mean British “what were you thinking when you decorated this house?” home improvement shows, we stumbled upon Rosie O’Donnell’s new movie, and started watching purely for its trainwreck value. As we sat tersely nibbling some tortilla chips and waiting for the first mockworthy moments, we didn’t even notice the minutes ticking by. Soon we had been watching a half hour. Review continued after the jump. |

Happy Endings: Naked Sidekick Pics Are So 2005
• We’ve never listened to Fall Out Boy, but there’s no reason we can’t check out one the band member’s own cock shots. BTW, love the Morrissey album. Nice gay touch. [Jossip] • If you missed last night’s Project Runway finale (a dutiful gay would have been glued to his/her TV set at 10 last night), The Malcontent has an extensive wrap-up. [The Malcontent] • Andy gives us yet another opportunity to ogle a half-naked Jake Gyllenhaal. [Towleroad] • Our favorite queer rocker, Michael van London (he’s beautiful, nice, and talented, what more could you ask for?), will be giving those queers in West Hollywood a reason to travel North of Santa … Continued… Respond» |

Lesbian Marries Lesbians, Pisses Off Church
Jane Spahr, a lesbian Presbyterian minister has confessed to marrying a couple of dykes two years ago. She’s now going up against the Church’s governing body, the Presbytery of the Redwoods . Is she being tried in Middle Earth? Spahr tells why she did it: As the first witness in her trial before a church judicial commission, Spahr testified that while she knew the Presbyterian Church (USA) reserves marriage for a man and a woman, she purposely used the language the couples wanted when she presided over the nuptials. “I don’t care what your sexual orientation is, what’s most important to me is what you call it,” she said. “They said ‘marriage’ and … Continued… Respond» |

Happy Endings: Basketball Player Slam Dunks Bonnie Tyler Song
• The MSM has finally discovered the Brokeback Mountain parodies that have been filling our inboxes faster than shirtless pics of Clay Aiken. We’re officially over both of them. [NY Times] • While we’re generally pretty unforgiving when celebs record themselves in their most private moments, we’re going to take it easy on Texas A&M’s Chris Walker. Not because he’s half-naked and hot but because he’s lip synching “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” [Towleroad] • Soccer star Ashley Cole is suing two UK newspapers for libel for printing gay orgy stories in which his name was never even mentioned. Makes perfect sense to us. [Press Gazette] • Following the news that … Continued… Respond» |

Happy Endings: Clint Eastwood’s Son’s Day Is Made
• There’s another reason to go on walking tours other than the fact that it works your glutes: Learn about gay history. [The Scotsman] • Well that was quick. George Michael has already copped to possessing drugs and being “stupid.” [CNN] • Clint Eastwood may be the epitome of hetero machoism, but his son Kyle isn’t one to refuse a little oral from a male friend. [NY Daily News] • Sydney Mardi Gras has transformed The Only Gay in the Village Into an entire parade. Hillary Clinton Not Married to Gay Marriage
Let’s get this straight. Senator Hillary Clinton does not support gay marriage but does support civil unions. She also doesn’t support a constitutional ban on gay marriage. All this has led to a lack of support of Hil from those queers at New York’s Empire State Pride Agenda. They explain their anti-Hil stance: “It will send a message to other elected officials that you can be working against us during this critical time and not suffer a negative pushback from the gay community,” he said. “We have become a community that throws money at politicians, and we demand nothing in return. And that’s what we get: nothing. It’s the wrong message to … Continued… Respond» |

Boy George To Never Be Made Honest Woman
We don’t know what’s gotten into Boy George lately but he seems to in the news as much as he was during his Culture Club days in the 80’s. It could just be the need to generate buzz for a nonexistent career. Or, more likely, it could be blamed on the massive cocaine withdrawal he might be suffering at the moment. We’re sure his publicist is making sure his nostrils are free of any nose candy. It seems the Boy isn’t too keen on gay marriage. Wonder what fellow brit (and newlyood) Sir Elton John has to say about this. “Gay unions, what is that all about? I haven’t been invited … Continued… Respond» |

Gay Adoption Is The New Gay Marriage
Since they’re pretty much losing the battle against gay marriage, conservatives are now turning their attention toward banning gays& lesbians from adopting children. They’re up and running with November ballot inititatives. Someone please save the children from The Gays! But there are already some surprisingly strange laws already on the books across the country. For example, single gays can adopt kids in Mississippi, but queer couple cannot. This is logical. Well, not really. At least Utah is consistent. All unmarried couples (that includes straights!) are prevented from adopting. But conservatives are already losing this battle, too. Last week a Missouri judge ruled a lesbian can be a foster mother. It may not … Continued… Respond» |

Happy Endings: Jake Given Head At Awards Show
• Brits love Brokeback Mountain (and Jake Gyllenhaal) just as much as their neighbors across the pond. [Zap2it] • The country’s largest Catholic university is offering a minor in queer studies. This can only be considered progress if the required classroom textbook is not the Bible. [Newsweek] • New Jersey doesn’t define marriage as strictly between a man and a woman. That means gay marriage may already be legal in that state. [NJ.com] • Trannies are the new gay cowboys. [The Wichita Eagle] • RIP Professor Dorius, a man who was run out of town by a bunch of old ditties just for looking at a few pretty pictures. … Continued… Respond» |

Laurel Hester Loses Battle with Cancer, But Wins Much More
Laurel Hester, the 49-year-old cancer-stricken police officer who fought to leave her pension benefits to her partner lost her battle to cancer this weekend. As a 23-year veteran of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s office, Hester inadvertently became a gay marriage activist after battling over a year with numerous failed attempts to extend her pension benefits to her partner of six years. Hester feared that her partner would lose the home they shared without her 13,000 death benefit. Two years ago, New Jersey passed a Domestic Partnership act giving counties and cities the right to extend healthcare benefits and pension benefits to partners of gay employees. Of course there … Continued… Respond» |

Happy Endings: Animals A Little Straighter This Week
• The queer animal kingdom was doing so well, what with gay pink flamingos and pink penguins making the news this month. That is until those gay Israeli vultures ran back into the closet. [Haaretz Daily] • Playing gay has been so good for Heath Ledger’s career, he might just give it another go. [Post Chronicle] • After her performance at the Grammys last week, Madonna had a surgeon perform on her. Bitch had a hernia. That’s what you get for wearing nothing but constricting leotards. [NY Post] • Traditionally leftist Canada has gays worried that their new Bush clone of a leader might take away their same-sex marriage rights. We … Continued… Respond» |

New Jersey High Court Talks Gay Marraige Today
We’ve been impatiently waiting all day for New Jersey’s Supreme Court to make a decision on gay marriage in the state. No news just yet but we came across an article spotlighting one queer arguing for gays’ right to marry in the Garden State. Stephen Wisner, 34, of Maplewood, was part of a group shaking signs at passing traffic. “I’ve been with my partner for 20 years, I want what everyone else wants with marriage,” Wisner said. If a couple can survive the awkwardness of puberty, the homophobic period of high school, and their hormone-raging twenties, they deserve more than just the right to marry their partner in the eyes of the … Continued… Respond» |

Gay Marriage Good For Health, Bad For Dating
We present yet another reason to feel depressed about not having a date for Valentine’s Day. Everyone knows that married breeders live longer but a new report says so do coupled queers. So does that mean a dateless February 14th is detrimental to your health? Well, probably not as much as a hunting trip with Dick Cheney. Reports the report: Gay “marriage” could boost the mental and physical health of homosexuals, doctors believe. Rates of depression, drug abuse and cancer are higher in the gay community than among heterosexual people. The report doesn’t reveal if bulging biceps and an ass of steel are also important physical health benefits. But we can’t think of … Continued… Respond» |

The Gayest Gay Wedding of All
If only Elton John and David Furnish had just waited a few months they could’ve been married in what possibly might be the gayest wedding venue on Earth: Princess Diana’s old digs. Althrop House, where the late wife of Prince Charles was brought up, can be rented out for £50,000 as a luxury wedding venue for gay and straight couples. Couples will be able to pose for photographs outside of “Diana’s Temple”, the summer house beside the grave of the late Princess. Gay couples will be able to consummate their marriage in the bedroom once shared by the Princess and her former husband, Prince Charles. Sure the price is steep but come on, … Continued… Respond» |

[Newsday] • Two of our favorite media subjects come together in one place. Tyra Banks tackles gay cowboys on her show today. [The Advocate] • It won’t be Return to Brokeback Mountain, but Jake Gylenhaal and Heath Ledger might end up onscreen once again. [NY Times] • We don’t know why the normally anti-gay Focus on the Family is endorsing a pro-gay bill, but we’ll take what we can get from them.
