The Oklahoma lawmaker first burst onto the national scene last week, after Victory Fund published her now infamous anti-gay audio. While addressing like-minded peers, Kern spouted some pretty dangerous - and erroneous - bullshit, like that we gays are going after children and hellbent on destroying the United States. Sound familiar? It should, because that's the same garbage produced by some of the nation's most notable right-wing activists, Matt Barber and Peter LaBarbera, whose arguments Kern uses to back up her homophobic nonsense. |

A right wing nutter got all genocidal while speaking with Concerned Women For America boy man, Matt Barber. Good As You has the entire audio of Barber's appearance at the non-profit's "Cultural Conference," but features the above snippet of a man's maniacal solution to gay bathhouses: I'm wondering there might be a possibility that we should encourage the homosexuals and the lesbians to do more and more and more of this bathhouses, no matter where it is and maybe they will destroy themselves… The remark got a good chuckle, of course. They must assume all the gay folk a. have deadly, contractible diseases and b. grace bathhouses. |
» "Gay Agenda" Redux Ad Nauseum Cont…
It's raining wackos today. First Peter LaBarbera came out to hate on a second grader and now Concerned Women for America's main man, Matt Barber, has penned the billionth dissection of the mythical "gay agenda". Barber really covers his bases in this one, taking on HRC, "central" documents from 1972 and 1989, our activists tools which are 'intended to silence traditional views on human sexuality and sexual morality and so much more. And of course he ends with some moralistic bullshit: "With God's help, we can turn back the tide of sexual and moral relativism that has both permeated our society and offended our founding principles." You know when a dog starts gnawing on a mystery object and simply won't let go? Yeah, that's kind of what's happening with the right wing and the "super staph" reports… |
|
Despite the fact that University of California at San Francisco apologized for its staph-related gay panic, the Concerned Women of America have extended an invitation to gay groups to "help curb the spread of a potentially deadly strain of Staph infection". Because Concerned Women for America (CWA) cares deeply for the health and well being of all Americans, CWA is sending letters inviting the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, GLAAD and Lambda Legal to put aside profound ideological differences with CWA — for the sake of the lives and health of their members — and to call for commonsense steps to help curb the spread of a potentially deadly strain of Staph infection. Um, right… |

"Our bad!"
Seeing the error of their ways, the CDC released a statement clarifying that the matter does not rest entirely on homo shoulders: The strains of MRSA described in the recent Annals of Internal Medicine have mostly been identified in certain groups of men who have sex with men (MSM), but have also been found in some persons who are not MSM. It is important to note that the groups of MSM in which these isolates have been described are not representative of all MSM, so conclusions can not be drawn about the prevalence of these strains among all MSM. We're sure social conservatives like Matt Barber and Peter LaBarbera will dismiss this as part of some sinister gay agenda… |

It's now officially pouring.
Is this not an eerie reminder of the initial stories 25 years ago about AIDS — then called GRID (Gay-Related Immunodeficiency Disease)? It is unfathomable that after that plague, disease specialists and the media are now surprised at the correlation of new infections with homosexual behavior. LaBarbera and his ilk don't seem to understand that right wing rhetoric helps breed unsafe sex practices. They should really be indicting themselves. |

"Enough Is Enough!" Says Irate, Insane Matt Barber
It's like clockwork! The Concerned Women for America and their male leader, Matt Barber, took some time yesterday to blast gays for their role in the spread of a deadly new staph infection. |
|
Concerned Women of America's male leader Matt Barber took to the radio recently to discuss with Martha Kleder how the Council on American-Islamic Relations has been using the same tactics as the "homosexual lobby". His evidence? They called for an advertisers to boycott anti-Islam radio host Michael Savage. How sinister! |

Does Know, However, That He Doesn't Like 'Em
Liberal ideology and political correctness, infused with public policy, begets social insanity. As much as we loathe Barber's perspective, we have to admit he makes us laugh. We'd also like to note that Barber's Renew America piece begins with a quote from anti-gay radio host Michael Savage. It's a match made in homophobic heaven, which sounds a lot like hell to us! Barber belongs to a women's group, but slams people who want to be women. Just saying… |
|
Matt Barber of Concerned Women of America delivers this doozy of an ENDA summation: ENDA would force all Americans who prefer to live within the realm of reality to pretend, by force of law, that a man is a woman, that an apple is an orange, simply because that apple thinks it's an orange (awkward, fruity pun not intended). Barber and his ilk must think that tranvestites and transgenders are simply foxes in women's clothing. [Note: we're still looking for images to accompany this feature.
