If there’s one thing Michael Lucas knows how to do, it’s nipping things in the bud.

The porn mogul got a bit of a surprise yesterday when rival studio Spunk alleged that Lucas has been secretly funding and distributing a line of bareback porn. Well, Lucas flat out denies it. But a simple denial wouldn’t be dramatic enough to suit Lucas’ style, so he issued his “disinterested” reaction from South America, where he’s presumably on vacation. Lucas Entertainment never had and does not have any intentions to produce bareback videos. Our company is also not concerned about Spunk Video’s motives to issue such a baseless press release.

There’s little sunshine in Michael Lucas‘ world at the moment.

As some of you may know, the porn producer’s mother, Yelena Treyvas, recently succumbed to cancer. She was a mere 59-years old.

While some of us haven’t always agreed with Lucas’ political agenda, nobody takes joy in such a loss. Or one shouldn’t, at least.

Lucas certainly ain’t celebrating these days, but the Russian-born 36-year old did find some time to put pen to virtual paper and write up an extensive reflection on his heart-wrenching experience.

Porn producer Michael Lucas apparently had a run in with the law last month: A resident of 244 W. 23rd St., Michael Lucas, 36, was arrested on Sat., March 15, after a neighbor told police the defendant slapped and scratched him. Witnesses said Lucas broke several items in one of the apartments of the building and cut himself on the arm by the time police arrived. Lucas’ actions may have been sparked by personal upheaval: his mother died of cancer Monday morning.

“Michael Lucas did not plagiarize Ann Coulter.” That’s what the porn star’s flack says, at least. Trusty publicity director Bryan Christopher swears that Lucas dictated the piece a week ago and asked him to hold off on publishing. He claims that the remarkable resemblance to Coulter’s column, published two days previously, is simply coincidence. Right…

If imitation is the highest form of flattery, what does that make plagiarism? We don’t know, but Michael Lucas probably does, because his Barack Obama bashing column has more than a few similarities with Ann Coulter’s “Throw Grandma Under A Bus,” which she published on March 19, two days before Lucas’ piece.

Russian born Lucas sent out an open letter today questioning why one of his flicks, The Intern, won more GAYVN honors than another title, Gigolo. He complains that Gigolo received “raging” reviews and basically pleads that the GayVN’s recognize the penis-heavy piece as the masterpiece he perceives it to be. Be sure, however, that Lucas does not want to raise the comparative bar too high: My company has many questions about this situation. I do want to be clear: I am NOT comparing “Gigolo” to any other company’s work. I am making a simple comparison to this movie and “The Intern.” Even a retard wouldn’t make the mistake that “Gigolo” is on a totally different planet. In a follow-up to Does Michael Lucas Have A Job?, we’d like to pass along a note the porn mogul penned to blogger Andy Towle. Lucas takes issue with Towle’s coverage of two MK’s legislative push against gay pride. Russian-born Lucas chides Towle for his apparently inflammatory conclusion. Writes Lucas, “You chose at the end of this post to point out more negative points about Israel, like demonstrations of a few hundred Hassidic Jews against Pride in Jerusalem, and the alleged bomber.” While those news stories are negative, they’re also handy references for Towle’s readers. Anyway, we’ve included the entire email after the jump. Note that he begins by saying he knows Towle doesn’t hate Jews. He doesn’t give everyone that benefit. Queer.
