There's some gay drama in Moldova, where Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has banned this Sunday's gay pride march. Like resistant and tenacious activists, however, the homos refuse to go-go: "According to the new Moldovan law on public manifestations, local authorities have no right to prohibit a public manifestation, [organizers] say. If the authorities have proof that there could be serious trouble at an event like Gay Pride march, then it is the decision of a court of law as to any ban." [UK Gay News] |

Blasted For Pride Ban
Gay rights activists brought the government to court, but lost. Now, after reviewing the facts, the Parliamentary Assembly of of the Council of Europe resolved that the government must "ensure full respect of the fundamental rights of all minorities". |
