Touchy!
“An amateur body-builder is suing the Chicago Free Press and a North Side gay bar after the paper ran an ad featuring him clad in leather and chains, allegedly without his consent. Joel Rabb, who works as a personal trainer and a “national level amateur body-builder” claims his photo was used in an advertisement for Bobby Love’s bar, 3729 N. Halsted St., in the paper without his consent, according to a suit filed in Cook County Circuit Court Wednesday. The ad, which pictures a muscular man wearing chains and leather chaps, reads, “Bobby Loves, tallest cock tail on Halsted” scrolled across the man’s face.” Oh, please! It could have been worse. The text could have been across his crotch! [… Continued… 1 Response» |

AFA Still Attacking “Gay” McD’s
Oh, lord! The American “Family” Association refuses to give up their “good” fight against McDonald’s. The anti-gay non-profit began ramping up efforts last May, when they blasted the fast food chain’s commitment to queer causes, like their sponsorship of pride parades. Not ones to be bullied, McDonald’s executives refuses to back down, which has since spurred the AFA to up the ante a bit. Realizing that their members aren’t the most intellectually evolved, the AFA has spelled out their beef with the beloved American restaurant: What the boycott of McDonald’s IS NOT about |

It’s simply fabulous! 4 Responses» |

Heinz Homos A-OK, Says Advertising Authority
So, remember Heinz’s “gay” commercial that caused that big stink, nearly gave Bill O’Reilly a coronary and ended up getting yanked? If not, we’ve included it above. Anyway, Britain’s advertising authority announced today that they will not be investigating complaints: The UK’s advertising regulator has decided not to investigate Heinz’s “male kiss” TV ad, despite 215 complaints from viewers that it was offensive and “inappropriate to see two men kissing”. Heinz’s TV ad for its new Deli Mayo line, which features two men sharing a brief kiss, has caused an international furore after the food company decided to pull the ad off air after less than a week. However, the Advertising Standards Authority said … Continued… 10 Responses» |

Woes, Blows.
“Gay troops have been told they can submit claims for their car mileage or train tickets to marches in London on Saturday and in Brighton next month. Heterosexual soldiers have criticized the move saying they are not allowed to claim money for trips to important functions, including the Queen’s Garden Party.” [The Telegraph] Respond» |
Anti-Gay Cop Blasts LAPD With Lawsuit
Sergeant Eric Holyfield’s launching a holy war on the Los Angeles Police Department! The copper accuses the department of discriminating against his religious beliefs after using a friend’s funeral to preach against the gays: In a fall 2006 eulogy delivered at a fellow officer’s funeral, Sgt. Eric Holyfield, who also is a pastor, said homosexual acts were “sinful” and an “abomination” and would lead to condemnation in hell, or the “lake of fire,” if one did not repent, according to a lawsuit he filed June 19 in Los Angeles County Superior Court. After those comments, LAPD passed him up for promotions and pay raises in retaliation, Holyfield alleges in the suit, saying that he … Continued… 43 Responses» |

Libertarian VP Hopeful Wayne Root Seeks End To Two-Party Topping, “Legal Bribery”
Wayne Allyn Root isn’t your typical politician. In fact, Root would probably reject to being called a politician, unless it’s - to use two of his own terms - as “the anti-politician” or “a citizen politician.” While that may be true, as the Libertarian Party’s vice-presidential nominee, Root and his running mate Bob Barr are hoping to make a political splash. The duo, both of whom were once Republicans, most likely won’t win the White House, but most observers agree that their ticket threatens John McCain’s candidacy, becoming this year’s Ralph Nader. Root bristles at such talk, insisting he’s in it to win it - and to set the dominant parties straight. |

Not Everyone Wants A Shot Of Tila
We have some good news and bad news with regard to A Shot at Love 2 with Tila Tequila. The good news is that in a shocking season finale, The Chosen One, Kristy, rejected Tila’s offer of a shot at “love.” The acting was superb, and we expect an Emmy nomination in the very near future. “It’s not just a plastic key,” Kristy said. “It’s the key to her heart.” Wow. Heavy stuff right there. So, on to the bad news: That means there will definitely be A Shot at Love 3 with Tila Tequila… 7 Responses» |

Brainless?
Citing a recent spike in HIV infection among gay men, she-beast activist Linda Harvey implores her fellow backward peers to ramp up the fight against gay clubs in schools. Shrieks Harvey, “When are public health officials going to intervene and shut down homosexual clubs and other pro-homosexual programs in our schools?” Because, you know, supporting struggling teens somehow increases HIV infection. Intl. Imbalance.
Californian queers may be able to marry, but that doesn’t mean all the gay couples are feeling gay. Remember, the federal government doesn’t recognize same-sex nuptials, which means binational couples still face long-distance romances, emigration or simply calling it quits. [Reuters] 5 Responses» |
Why Gays Should Love Bush
The gays have loads of reasons to hate on President George W. Bush. He and his cronies did, after all, use us for political gain and continue to poo-poo on the idea of same-sex marriage. Despite all that, however, Bush does deserve some lavender love, says activist David Benkof: |

Surprising…
Ugandan gay activist Frank Mugisha sent us an email to inform us that police arrested two trans women at a bar back in May. The ladies, cops said, were causing a “public nuisance,” which sounds like fancy code for being queer. Considering the lack of evidence - and despite the nation’s overarching anti-gay and trans attitudes - a judge did the right thing and dismissed the case late last month, citing lack of evidence. While that’s good news, Uganda’s laws still skew against the so-called “sexual deviants.” Respond» |
