West Hollywood's apparently not all happy and gay. From a reader:

Not sure exactly what started it, but last night at The Abbey in West Hollywood, last season Project Runway runner-up Rami Kashou was on the receiving end of a martini glass to the face.

After a brief scuffle, the guy who threw the glass was dragged out by security and Rami, drenched from head to toe in blood, left by ambulance.

Yow. That sounds terrible. Could this alleged attacker be a contender for cold bitches 3? Hitting someone with a martini glass is straight up icy.

In the meantime, anyone have more information?

Ever since NBC Universal execs learned they would officially be losing Project Runway on Bravo, they’ve been working overtime to tear the brand apart. Why should they bother promoting a show that Harvey Weinstein ripped away from them to take to Lifetime, where he’s set to bag a bigger payday from production and product placement fees?

At first, the negativity was subtle. Bravo execs kept quiet as they stole Runway’s brilliant production team, Magical Elves, away from the show in an exclusive deal. And then the more obvious signs arrived.

Project Runway’s fifth season, and the last for Bravo, premieres on Wednesday. And by the time it arrives, and certainly by the time it wraps, its varnish will be worn, damaged, or gone altogether.

So just how is Bravo systematically sabotaging the Project Runway brand?

How do you let the execs behind your show know that you’re pissed about all the sweeping changes that they’re making?

If you’re Cindy McCain critic Tim Gunn and have the uncertainty of what lies ahead for Project Runway, you start sniping away at the brand any opportunity you get.

While Runway’s fifth season begins the march to its end on Bravo on Wednesday, Gunn, who has signed to remain with the show when it moves to Lifetime, can be seen planting seeds of negativity…

Project Runway winner Christian Siriano went from being gay media darling to GLBT nemesis in an instant after he compared transsexuals – the butt of his signature "hot tranny mess" line – and drag queens to the "white trash" of the straight community.

This week's Time Out New York asked Siriano: "Drag has always been part of our experience and always will be. What is its everlasting appeal? Why won’t it ever die?"

He replied: "If you think of heterosexuals, they have white-trash women and trailer parks, and we have drag queens and trannies. I don’t know if I’m the one who can explain it. It’s, like, drag queens are just there. These answers are hard!"

GLAAD, as it's wont to do, got upset. So Siriano clarified: "I wish that my words were not taken in that way. When I was speaking, some comments that I made were not used in the article. I completely support the fabulousness and amazing fashion inspiration that most transgender people provide."

So, is all forgiven? Should he stop using the "hot tranny mess" line? Or are some people overreacting?

Sad news, gays.

Project Runway season four contestant Jack Mackenroth, who had to leave the show after a staph infection, will not be auditioning for the show’s fifth season.

Wrote the designer: “During my short stint on season 4, I was never in the bottom three and I won the menswear challenge, which is my field of expertise, so I feel like I accomplished most of what I started.”

Gays are worried that lady-loving (not like that) Lifetime will castrate the queer from newly-purchased Project Runway. Runway blogger Tom Fitzgerald kvetched, "It has a very large gay viewership. It has a very large straight viewership that likes the fact that it’s an urban, intelligent, creative reality show. Our hope is that they don’t forget that." They'd be complete fucking morons if they did… [Observer]

A birthday shoutout to Project Runway's Jack Mackenroth, who turns thirtysomething (again) today.

Back in December, we heard Elle chieftess Robbie Myers, and creative director/hatchet man Joe Zee, were looking to oust fashion director Nina Garcia. Naturally, Elle spokespeeps refused comment, which, to us, confirmed our story, but behind the scenes they were denying things.

Cut to today: Elle is said to have “parted company” with Garcia, says WWD. Nobody likes a liar.

It was just last weekend (as in six days ago), we’re told, that she filmed her Ugly Betty cameo along with Runway winner Christian Siriano.

» The Big Change?

We've already established that the Weinstein brothers want to move Project Runway to Lifetime, but what changes does Lifetime have in mind? No one knows for sure, but 23/6 imagines a total overhaul, including ditching foreign-sounding Nina Garcia, whose foreignness is "off-putting." Sadly, that's exactly how we imagine an internal Lifetime memo would read… [23/6]

Under the original deal struck between The Weinstein Company and Bravo, Project Runway cost the NBC Universal channel $600,000 per episode.

That was not enough for Harvey Weinstein, especially when Bravo started taking all the credit for the show’s success.

The quiet media war over the gays took a bewildering turn today: 'gina-centric Lifetime snatched up Bravo's mega-hit, Project Runway. Meanwhile, Bravo owning NBC/Universal has launched a lawsuit against the Weistein brothers, who produce the show and called the lawsuit a way to ‘disrupt the series moving to Lifetime.’. [Jossip]

Uber-gay Project Runway winner Christian Siriano sat down with Craig Ferguson yesterday. And, while we can't say for sure, we'd like to think that our pleas helped fuel his disavowal of "fierce," which threatened to undo our nation.

Not one to be without a catch phrase - or, rather, word - Siriano announced to the world that he'll now use the word "expired," as in "fierce is expired".

Project Runway queen bee Tim Gunn imparted some fashionable wisdom at last night's GLAAD Media Awards: "I really believe [Christian Siriano] is his generation's Marc Jacobs. I really do…" Dress appropriately. [NY Mag]

Christian Siriano took the top prize on Bravo's Project Runway last night. What do you think, readers, did this pint-sized cutie deserve to win?

Also, on a related note, are you as in love with Siriano as we are? Too bad he's dating occasional Queerty photographer, Brad Walsh. Damn you, Walsh! Damn you…
