If you’re a gay of a certain age bracket (see: millennial), the opening line of Jeremy Shane’s song  “TGIF” might hook you right off the bat:

“I grew up like a white girl, but then I got a beard / Got my Ninja Turtles, Barbie Dolls, I’m getting freaky weird.”

Eat your heart out, Robert Frost. Jeremy just summed up many a life in one rhyme.

Maybe it’s his excellent assortment of ’90s kid references, the retro camcorder video filter, his legs or the combination thereof that’s got us grinning as we nod our head to the track.

Or perhaps we’re just happy as hell, like Shane, that it’s Friday.
