New research suggests that if everyone in the U.S. gave up their landline, then gays would be marching right up to the altar. Americans who use their cell phone exclusively are more likely to approve of gay marriage, so we suggest that everyone switch right away and urge their families to do the same. This could be the next great activism strategy, and we want to get the ball rolling. If you don’t get cell phone service where you live, that could be the problem. Petition your town to put up a tower, or move to the city. It’s a small sacrifice to make when the outcome could be equality under the law!
Cell Phone Users More Likely To Support Gay Marriage [365 Gay]

I think I would rather continue life as a third class citizen in America than to see more cell phones. I am constantly appalled by the surreal rudeness of cell phone users. They fairly SCREAM their inane phone conversations into their little units as they ride beside me on the subway. And they refuse to quit yammering on the cell phone even as they try to buy stamps at the post office or groceries at the market.
And they’re even blathering into their cell phones nonstop at 700 am! WHO the hell are they TALKING to at sevenfuckingo’clock in the fucking MORNING? Cell phones have completely destroyed all vestiges of civility in America. They are a wart on the eye of humanity.

Cellphone and iPods have destroyed politeness and civility. I see it everywhere… on the bus, eating lunch, walking around town, and other places… People don’t sit and talk to the people around them anymore, even here in the south…

No worries, this is one of those “studies” where the results don’t show the facts. These aren’t two cause and effect items….both have “age” in common. Young people are more likely to only own cell phones and young people are more likely to approve of gay marriage. It’s like saying there are increases in the occurance of rape when there is an increase in the amount of ice cream sold. They’ve nothing to do with each other except both happen the hotter it is outside.
And, more two cents, iPods and cell phones have nothing to do with a loss of civility and politeness, that’s do to parents not teaching their children good manners.

Hmm now I’m worried that my tongue wasn’t thoroughly enough in cheek.
