People repeat this lie all the time.

At least Rush’s repeating of the lie cost him an ownership opportunity.

Most professional athletes lead cleaner lives than people in the general public b/c they know their every slip-up will be magnified by putzes like the one who made this comment.

Yes, there are a few bad apples and some of these guys are indeed, thugs. And personally, I’m glad this Johnson guy got the boot. But people like him are nowhere near the majority.

The media of course, focuses on the negative and the dramatic.

No one hears about the camps they do and the United Way assistance. Many of them, independently of the league, contribute and give back to their communities. We have a big such event in my home town every year attended by several NFL players.

So please kindly can that “they’re all thugs” crap.

The incidents involving Larry Johnson and women beating are disturbing and should have been dealt with, but for those of you who are upset because he said, “Fag”, are just ridiculous. People use the term in a derogatory manner all the time- its not necessarily okay, but this over-reaction is absurd. SHAME ON YOU for judging someone else. There’s no rule that says you can’t get angry and make mistakes. At least his time his mistake is only verbal! You all do it. So do I. I don’t hate gays or blacks or others… but I do and you do make mistakes. To hold these humans as somehow above the standard is just a sham. Yeah, they get paid more, but you would likely do the same. Fix the system and stop blaming one another. I doubt LJ really hates gays. He probably doesn’t care one iota what others do in a bedroom; nor do I and if you are intelligent then neither do you… but this stops none of us from saying things. I expect better from America. If we are to figure out our current predicament we need to focus on the real problems and not dwell on this infantile banter. Figure out how to get universal healthcare and have universal compassion for all man/womankind and stop getting so sensitive when there are actually people dying on our streets from neglect. Seriously. Read a book. Stop using Twitter you twits.

Not to open a whole can of worms… But it is not as simple as saying “it’s fine to use the N-word” or “it’s fine to say “Faggot.” It matters immensely how it is used and by whom. This football player said it as a hateful insult, so it is not ok. If a gay guy at a club says “Hey, fag!” to his friend as a way of saying “hello” before hugging him, it is totally different.

NFL: No Fags Leauge?? The entire leauge is a total joke. They portray themselves as an “elite” leauge of “professionals”. For the most part the leauge is filled with common street thugs who don’t even realize how damm lucky they are to be in the position they are. An unbelievable 21% of NFL players have been charged with serious crimes!……….And Larry Johnson: it always seems like the one who cries the loudest with anti-Gay epithats is usually the one who is also the biggest closet cases………
