I can’t get my head around Michael Douglas as Liberace .. he doesn’t feel right for that role.
·
Cheyenne’s role just revealed on deadline.com Jackson will play Jerry O’Rourke, Liberace’s former lover and right-hand man in Steven Soderbergh’s Behind the Candelabra.
·
It’s sad that Jackson has now been slotted in to gay-only roles. Many had high hopes he would be a break out star.
·
True this is a Gay role, but it’s a Steven Soderbergh movie. I personally find nothing sad about his career. He seems to work consistently in high profile diverse projects. He is not a huge star but he does play many straight roles. I saw his Carnegie Hall Concert and was blown away by his stage presence. In concert, he’s a better performer by far then NPH and on par with Jackman.
The stage seems to be giving him more straight opportunities. He is starring this fall on Broadway in The Performers playing a straight porn star. And the link for the deadline article also said he will guest star as a love interest for Portia Di Rossi in Bryan Singer’s Mockingbird Lane. By any measure he has seems to have very enviable career.

Shirtless Matt adore,
Twirl your bike helmet for bull,
Whirl your red silk shirt,
Poolside by moonlight, ballet,
Lee, key-dance Malaguena.

Be my Maestro, Lee,
Passion more seen, soul more heard,
Play Liberace,
Piano’s rosetta stone,
Maestro music is that way.

Cheyenne Jackson, dipped in gold and covered in rhinestones? Now way – he’s best au naturel.
