Officers arrived at the location of the crime within minutes, where they learned the pedestrians, two men in their 40s, had been struck while crossing the street and the car, an orange Dodge Charger, sped off.

Both men were taken to the hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries, Sgt. Michael Andraychak told press.

Kohrs, who was off duty at the time, ditched his vehicle a few blocks away then fled the area on foot. His colleagues eventually tracked him down, however, and he was booked on two felony charges of hit-and-run.

Police are not saying whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the incident. They are also not releasing Kohrs’ mugshot.
