God knows we love an Anglican church with a sense of humor. Reddit user Reeb0k posted this photo of a church in his town and the internet ate it up like it was a meme of a cat stuck in a tiny cup. According to The Blaze, St. John’s Anglican Church is in Niagra Falls, Ontario, proving that Canadians can be funny on occasion with the help of the good lord Jesus Christ — the poster child for polyamorous parenting.

…and he was Jewish, too.
2eo
They missed out the part where he never existed.
jwrappaport
@2eo: Damn you. Beat me to it.
Dakotahgeo
This is the part that will set us apart, once and for all, from the religious extremists—the true saved Christians have a tremendous sense of humor.
BrandoPolo
@2eo: You atheists must be so fun at parties.
2eo
@BrandoPolo: We are, because we don’t have a jackboot on our throats forcing us to be good under threat of penalty, we do it because it’s worth it, not because of a bribe.
BrandoPolo
@2eo: Does “being good” include being an isufferably self-important sourpuss? I heard Jesus climbed down from cross — you should try it sometime.
2eo
@BrandoPolo: You took a snipe and it was knocked away, don’t get arsey just because you attempt at sarcasm was a flop and was easily dressed down.
BrandoPolo
@2eo: Actually, you took a snipe on a very nice post, and you were roasted for it. Don’t get your self-righteous panties in a nuch because your lame soapbox was kicked out from under you.
Dakotahgeo
@2eo: 2eo, now behave yourself! There ARE those of us who are used to your antics and they’re not that funny… but we do tolerate you, lolol… although insufferably. Kudos to BrandoPolo for seeing through the transparency.
iMort
Very funny, and I’m sure Jesus was a fine man. It’s not his fault all that crap was made up about him after the fact!
Dxley
Lmao. 2eo and BrandoPolo, please continue. ha ha ha ha. Love it when gay guys fight verbally. It sounds so awesome ha ha
jwrappaport
@BrandoPolo: We most definitely are – can you imagine having the Hitch at a party?!
BrandoPolo
@jwrappaport: I can, and I imagine a bunch of ponderous pontification, bad dancing, and hot air. No thanks!
Jackhoffsky
@BrandoPolo: Matthew 7:1-5
2eo
@Jackhoffsky: Don’t be silly, expecting religious people to follow their own actual teachings is like asking why a mule has a spinning wheel.
Dakotahgeo
@BrandoPolo: Ignore the Bible-quoting people at all costs… they read well but don’t do so well on the ‘doing’ part. Actions, not words, count more.
2eo
@Dakotahgeo: You’ve done an about face lately, why don’t you sign off as Pastor/Div anymore?
Did you finally join the reality team?
BrandoPolo
@Jackhoffsky: Matthew 7:5
BrandoPolo
@Dakotahgeo: Bitter, party of one.
Jackhoffsky
@2eo: Ugh, you are absolutely right. I don’t know what I was thinking.
We might not be any fun at parties, but at least we can admit when we’re wrong! LOL.
Dakotahgeo
@2eo: Reality Team? LOLOL… never left it. The CORRECT professional wording (learned while hospital/hospice Chaplain) is: Name, Degree, Position. I use it when it’s needed, not all the time. Actually, I prefer the following:
His Holiness Dak, M.Div. Pastor/Chaplain… but my clergy friends get a bit feisty over that, lolol. So I just use the normal sign-in, sign-out
Dakotahgeo, M.Div. Pastor/Chaplain
Thanks for asking!
Dakotahgeo
@BrandoPolo: I generally don’t take too much notice of atheists. They can have their “fun” down here but it will be interesting (whether they believe in one or not)to observe them meeting their Creator face to face and hearing their various explanations as to why or how they made their decisions. It won’t be pretty!
2eo
@Jackhoffsky: Oh whatever will I do, god botherers don’t like me, as a 28 year old British man I’m completely isolated from the 3% of people in the country who still thump their bibles.
I don’t know how I’ll get through the days, looks like I’ll have to overdose on Starbucks while jacking off to Dawkins.*
* Still more fun than believing in god.
Jackhoffsky
@2eo: well, at the very least you will accomplish a lot more in life. LOL!
I have many delusions in life without having to add “god” to the mix. đ
the other Greg
@BrandoPolo: @jwrappaport: “can you imagine having the Hitch at a party?!”
No wonder Hitchens drank so much, but that’s not always good at a party.
@Dakotahgeo: Hey Your Holiness: Never mind 2eo – he’s smart and makes a good case for atheism, but he keeps telling us he has a sense of humor without ever giving any evidence of it. He declared to us that “The Big Bang Theory” is “not funny,” and he’s under the impression it’s a show “about technology” (!), which is about the oddest misreading of it imaginable.
But 2eo’s hero Stephen Hawking jumped (pun intended) at the opportunity to be a guest star on “Big Bang,” thereby proving that at least some atheists do have a sense of humor!
Dakotahgeo
@the other Greg: Right on… I watch these tomfooleries with a grain of salt but many giggles. AND… it’s free! Thanks for your input.

My theory is that each brain has an affinity towards some gift, whether it’s math, oratorical skills, music, dance, faith in spiritual matters and on and on. Those who don’t believe in God can no more believe in God than I could sit down and do trigonometry or calculus. Each brain has wiring that taps into what gift is expressed. There is a biochemical reaction. My theory is that there is an endorphin-like peptide, no, even smaller than a peptide, that chemically alters the bodies chemistry. The mind is so powerful. Who’s to say that one person’s faith is wrong or right?

sorry for the typos. I’m exhausted today!
