But she’s sanctimonious and intolerant of anyone who disagrees with her. So, if it’s Bill Clinton, she calls him a Republican because he doesn’t meet Rachel Maddow’s test. So, the worst element of our party are people who call themselves liberal who are actually illiberal because they are intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them.
—Lanny Davis, former counsel to Bill Clinton, getting back at Rachel Maddow for her six-month-old comments calling Bill Clinton the “best Republican president the country has ever produced.” The timing is perfect, since Clinton just got done saying, about Republicans, “A lot of their candidates today, they make [President George W. Bush] look like a liberal.” Oh, and this:
One of the leading television commentators on one of our liberal cable channels said I was the best Republican president the country ever produced, which would come [as] quite a surprise to the Republicans, half of whom still think I’m a closet communist.

Rachel is sanctimonious, and as much as I dislike Lieberman, Rachel’s attacks were orchestrated hit jobs. I don’t think it does anyone a service, it becomes difficult to convince someone of something when you present your case with fictitious information especially when the truth would have sufficed. There was more than enough information to bury Lieberman with, why make stuff up? Then comes election session and she out there doing the same thing that Lieberman did by taking the hatchet to her own. With the Jury still out on Obama, without Bill which success story would democrats be able to point to in the last 40 years? She will be the first one out on the television screen ranting about how Democrats manage to defeat themselves when she is the main person with the megaphone setting the stage to do exactly that. I guess it makes a bit of sense granted if things were to be rapidly getting better Rachel would have less low hanging fruit to juice up her show with.

Although I’m surely in the minority here, I generally get very tired of Maddow’s constant negatively and bias. True, she is extremely intelligent and has many good insights and views. But, I can only handle so much of the constant attacks and negativity. You don’t win people over, Bill Clinton included, by constantly attacking them. Maybe she should read the book, How to Win Friends and INFLUENCE People. She’s be a terrible politician because she’d never lean how to compromise and work together with people that she disagrees with. They’re all enemies and evil. That’s pretty immature and NOT intelligent.

Rachel can get annoying.

Rachel Maddow is one of the brightest minds in the media today. She actually understands the stories she is covering and keeps informed enough to call her guests or any news maker on when they are lying or bending the truth.
Even when she has someone on her show who she vehemently disagrees with she will ask them if they believe she has treated them fairly and they usually say yes.
i think the media would be far stronger and be able to do its job as the fourth estate if more “Journalists” followed her example.
I believe many people feel that anyone willing to call them out on the truth is displaying bias.
reason
She is one of the most manipulative minds in the media today and stands for everything that is wrong with the media. The Rachel’s Rush’s, Olbermann’s, and Hannity’s of the media not only deceive their audience about how government works but they are the toxic potion that is destroying our government and turning it into the hyper-partisan, deadlocked, do nothing behemoth that it is. They are polarizing Americans and turning it into an us vs. them country that is good for their ratings and terrible for our future.

This is true of pretty much all the Obama segment of the Democratic party. How do you think the idea of calling Bill Clinton a racist managed to get traction? The irony is that Obama is just as “corporatist” and moderate as Bill Clinton. In fact he’s even more conservative. The health care bill he passed was even more Republican than Richard Nixon’s. And he’s not only failing to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act—he’s not even repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, a policy that’s now 20 years old. If Bill Clinton is a Republican, I guess the Tea Party is right, and Barack Obama really is Hitler.

Oh watch all the homo Democrats come out to defend their Beloved Leader Clinton.
Yeah, Clinton. The homophobic bigot who campaigned for and signed both DOMA and DADT.
I can imagine how things must have gone down at the Clinton offices in NYC when Maddow made her commentary. Bill no doubt jumped up with a vein popping out of his head (his temper is legend) and probably screamed “WHO DOES THAT DYKE THINK SHE IS?!?”
adman
@Brian Miller: Agreed. Dem Queers are expected to operate under some kind of Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to the Democratic party. Oh, and we MUST learn to enjoy being kicked around by other minority interests in the party too, or we are “crazy”. Where have I heard that line before? Oh yeah from the right. I think this year blind and dumb is the new black.
Brian Miller
@adman: Yep. Ironically, the same people rushing to defend the Big Dog’s nasty federal homophobia campaigned for and voted for the pro-DOMA Democratic tickets for president in 2004 and 2008… but can be seen hysterically protesting at their local Target over a $150,000 donation made to a gubernatorial candidate in a state they’ve never even visited and cannot find on an unlabelled map.
Rick H
@Brian Miller: Wow Brian… Do you realize you just did exactly what you’re on a soap box about? I happen to be the guy that organized the Chicago protest against Target and guess what, I know exactly where MN is on the map.
I am a long time supporter of Ms. Maddow and I happen to agree with her and you on this point. Bill Clinton gave us DOMA and Don’t ask Don’t Tell. Hell he even wrapped DADT in a bow like it was some sort of gift to us. See… I can and do think things through just as I did with the protest against Target. So before you accuse people of jumping on a band wagon maybe you should look at what you’re doing and stop. It’s very simple, you just need to use your brain! That’s the thing located three feet above your ass… In case you couldn’t locate it on a map!
