CNN Cuts Out Rush Limbaugh’s Barney Frank Impersonation

Just when it was getting good, too! The pill-popping conservative blowhard was addressing the lost lambs of CPAC, when he started in on a lisping, mincing impersonation of openly gay Rep. Barney Frank. Seconds later, CNN cut the feed, or you know, “had an accident”, but quickly went back once Limbaugh had finished his gay-baiting, earning him riotous applause from the CPAC crowd. Yeah, yeah, horribly offensive, blah, blah, blah– but we’ll put it this way: We’re really hoping that by 2010, we’ll see Rush Limbaugh proudly announce the Palin/Jindal ticket, if you catch our drift. Keep it up, losers. Watch the video after the jump.

I can’t decide if somebody ought to buy the CNN producer who cut the hate speech a spa day for doing the right thing, or condemn him, because letting this gasbag’s hate hide in the shadows of conservative meetings lets him get away with it. If America had heard it all, I can’t help but think there’d be some level of outrage.

I saw the unedited version on C-Span. It wasn’t that offensive. Remember that Rush Limbaugh considers himself to be primarily an entertainer. Think of him as a stand-up comedian or editorial cartoonist. He can be funny sometimes. And things can be funny because they are true.

Does NASCAR cut to static when a crash happens? Why else are a good percentage of their viewers watching?? All networks continue the ghastly practice if broadcasting 911 calls in the name of “news.” We routinely see all sorts of real crimes broadcast from security footage, over and over. Was someone afraid because the 7 second delay was not working? Rush is a broadcaster, he would not go over that line, then, and besides the only people who complain about profanity are Rush’s friends anyway.

This is beyond pathetic of CNN. I cannot believe it was a real technical difficulty. If I were tuned into that Bund rally live I would expect to hear the punchline of the acceptable-to-hate minority joke. CNN has managed to offend every faction of it’s viewership with this pathetic whateveritwas. In the mean time looking like it is an enabler of this type of rhetoric, an excuser of it, an editor of it as if it were made by an employee or friend, in no way a “news” outlet of in any way journalistic.

And did anybody at CNN not think this would look really bad and stink? Fuckingidiots.

#3 Rush Limbaugh considers himself primarily an entertainer? If Rush himself said this, it was to deflect criticism or something. I can’t believe after reading two of his books and listening periodically to as much as I can stand of him on the radio (usually no more than 10 minutes at a stretch) that he REALLY believes he’s an entertainer.

He has a lot to say about the political scene, economics etc. Let him speak, I say. Let everyone see how crass & prejudiced he is. Unfortunately though, he is a great financial success, so our dumbed-down public thinks that he must really have something important to say!

@John Smith:

The only reason it wasn’t that offensive was because Rush caught himself in the middle of defining what a “castrati” was.

If CNN cut away because it was offensive, then they should have put up a splash screen saying something to the effect of “The douchebag you have been listening to has crossed the line. We will resume broadcast when he regains some semblance of sanity.”

Apparently only Fox was supposed to cover this. Rush was all excited because it was his first “national audience” (his words not mine). I found it rather irritating that CNN played the speech to begin with.

Hey maybe it will be Limbaugh/Palin in 2012? haha (Rush says he won’t go into politics because he wouldn’t take the pay cut)

It is also to bad Rush can’t hear the crowd.

Randy Kay got woken up from her slumber.

Does anyone else get this weird pedophile vibe from him and god he has gotten so much fatter since he went off the oxy.

Is it weird every time I hear those crowds start chanting USA, I want to go in the corner and crawl up into a ball. LOL

@Jaroslaw – I hope you got those books from the library and didn’t send Rush any money?? LOL

What? He’s still alive. I thought Princess Leia strangled him to death with her slave chains.
